Narrative-Driven Sci-Fi Sim Cloudpunk Gets DLC for PC


Upon its release in 2020, Cloudpunk, from Berlin-based development workshop ION LANDS featured in the Steam charts, and The New Yorker named it one of the best games of the year.


Its upcoming DLC. City of Ghosts, picks up right where the main game left off, continuing the story of Rania, a courier trying to survive in a future metropolis, and her dog, Camus, while introducing a new character: a deadbeat gambler named Hayse. Players will switch between the two protagonists.


The DLC includes a fully voiced campaign and new features such as street racing, vehicle customization, and the ability to unlock different endings based on player choices. It arrives on PC for Steam on May 25.


Art of Rally to Release on Consoles This Summer


Canadian developer Dune “Funselektor” Casu (known for Absolute Drift) revealed this week that the PlayStation 4 and 5 versions of racing game Art of Rally — which released on PC for Steam in 2020 — will be available this summer. The game will include an update with six new challenges taking place in locations from Mount Kenya to Lake Victoria, four new cars, new songs, animals, and a roaming map.


Underwater Survival Game Subnautica: Below Zero Releases This Month


From developer Unknown Worlds, Subnautica: Below Zero — a sequel to 2018’s Subnautica that has been on Steam via Early Access — releases May 14 on PC and Mac via Steam and Epic Game Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.


The immersive title, which showed off some gameplay footage in PlayStation’s last State of Play, includes a single-player storyline that involves exploring an ocean world full of mysteries and creatures. For those who haven’t played the original game, it also launches on Switch on May 14.


Co-Op Horror Shooter GTFO Gets Content Expansion


Swedish studio 10 Chambers (comprised of developers known for PAYDAY: The Heist and PAYDAY 2) released the latest content expansion for its debut game, the co-op horror shooter GTFO, which will be available as a free Steam update for existing users of the game. Known as Rebirth, the update introduces new gameplay mechanics, environments, and monsters.


“With Rebirth, we’re also expanding the lore for fans that want to know more about the world we created,” said Simon Viklund, narrative director of GTFO, in a statement. “The new additions found in the Rebirth update offer clues to the background story of the game, providing slivers of new information as to what’s going on, why players are imprisoned in the Complex, and who — or what — the Warden is.”


Prologue Demo for Wonhon: A Vengeful Spirit Releases on PC via Steam


Developer Busan Sanai Games and publisher Super revealed a prologue demo for their paranormal stealth-action and tactics game Wonhon: A Vengeful Spirit on PC via Steam.


Players take on the role of a young Korean girl seeking vengeance for those who killed her family during an attack on her village. After gaining paranormal abilities, the girl is able to turn into a ghost and possess living creatures.


The prologue features a look at four levels of the game, which releases June 8.
