The video quality

If somehow the overall quality of the film may be subject to some subjective criticism, this is not the case with the technical compartment on the video front. The images offered by this edition in 4K Ultra HD are superb and the addition of the HDR elements associated with Dolby Vision manage to offer a visible upgrade over the 1080p resolution counterpart. From the point of view of colorimetry, from the first minutes of the film you can appreciate the bright color palettes with warm tones in stark contrast to the blue of the sky. The images never appear confused, everything is extremely clear and well defined, both in terms of detail and in terms of contrast and colors. However, it should be noted that the stylistic choices during the production phase have certainly helped a lot to obtain a result of this magnitude, given that the film is colored even during the darkest scenes.

The audio sector

Now let's move on to the sector audio offered by this edition in 4K Ultra HD. The Dolby Atmos HD track in Italian (present only on the 4K Ultra HD disc) is absolutely in line with what can be expected from a production of this caliber, with great sound effects that come to life from the very first action sequences. The spatiality of the stage is wide, with spears running from right and left and screaming crowds that emphasize the environment projected on the screen in a sensitive way. Every object and every vehicle turn out to have extremely fluid transactions and at the same time swollen and full of substance. The dialogues are also excellent, which even in the most open scenes sometimes boast a slight reverb that is never annoying and always well balanced. To all this is added a soundtrack resulting from the work done by Hans Zimmer, which turns out to be the icing on the cake!

The additional contents and gadgets of Wonder Woman 1984 in 4K

Finally , as we have anticipated, this new Comic Edition of Warner Bros also contains the comic Wonder Woman Terra Uno, produced by the mind of Grant Morrison and drawn by Yanick Paquette. It is a must-read reading, partly indebted to the idea of the original creator of William M. Marston. Finally, in addition to the volume, the box also contains a splendid poster depicting the protagonist of the DC film.

And then again, among other things, there are the contents dedicated to the most action shots of the film, such as the adrenaline-pumping vehicle chases in the middle of the desert. In total, get ready for over an hour of additional content!

In conclusion

To conclude, Wonder Woman enriches the current Comic Book line proposed by Warner Bros in collaboration with Panini Comics and it does so by bringing a double disc edition of the highest technical caliber. The difference between the 4K Ultra HD edition and the 1080p Blu-ray edition is great both in the video and sound fields, a sign of a consistent evolution of this increasingly present technology. The additional contents are also excellent, which are able to offer the viewer over an hour of sequences that are useful for better understanding the work done by the production. To close the circle we find Wonder Woman Terra Uno, the comic proposed in hardback edition, and the collector's poster. If you are a fan of DC and of the character, this edition is really good from a content point of view.
