MRS LOWRY & SON

Vanessa Redgrave and Timothy Spall are mother and son in the portrait of the artist L.S. Lowry. British Laurence Stephen Lowry lived with her authoritarian mother Elizabeth until her death in 1939. Bedridden and embittered, she actively sought to dissuade her bachelor son from pursuing his ambitions as a painter, while continuing to express her disappointment towards him.

CONTROL

Starting from everyday life, director Anton Corbijn sensitively and discreetly traces the profile of the enigmatic Joy Division leader Ian Curtis played by Sam Riley. Young Ian Curtis lives in a small town near Manchester, where he dreams of forming a band and breaking into the world of music. Barely of age, he marries his girlfriend Debbie, with whom he has a daughter. To support his family he finds work in an employment office. Meanwhile he manages to found his first band, Warsaw and to perform live. But the more the musical career seems to take off, the more the family situation is compromised. In addition to the difficult sentimental situation, Ian has to deal with terrible epileptic fits, one of which will hit him even during a performance.

'And Just Like That...' gets an official trailer and release date on Sky and NOW

The 'Sex and the City' continuation will debut on our screens this December.

The official trailer for 'And Just Like That...' has landed for the Sky Comedy and NOW show, reintroducing us to the (three) New York City socialites.

The series' premiere date has also been unveiled, and there's not too much longer to wait. 'And Just Like That...' will begin on Sky Comedy and NOW on Thursday, December 9. The first two episodes will premiere, and the following eight episodes will be available weekly each Thursday.

The 10-episode 'new chapter' of the 'Sex and the City' storyline will see Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis's characters navigate their lives 20 years later. Kim Cattrall's straight-talking businesswoman Samantha Jones will not return and it still remains a mystery as to how the series will reference her omission, or if it will at all.

The series also co-stars Sara Ramírez, Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, Karen Pittman, Chris Noth, Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, and Evan Handler in supporting roles. Willie Garson, who passed away in September, will also return as Stanford Blatch; he makes a brief an appearance in the trailer below.

The official synopsis for the series is as follows: ''And Just Like That...' follows Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.'

Here's the new trailer for the series.

The first two episodes of 'And Just Like That...' will be available on Sky Comedy and NOW from Thursday, December 9. You can also watch the entire six seasons of 'Sex and the City' via these services too.
