R6S European Challenger League 2021

Last Sunday the finals of the Rainbow Six Siege European Challenger League 2021 were played, the continental tournament that opens the doors to the European Legue 2022, the Champions League of Ubisoft's tactical shooter. The last tournament of the year did not smile at the Mkers, the only all-Italian qualified team that, after gaining access to the Playoffs, failed to overcome the quarterfinals.

A rather end of 2021 bitter for the Italian team that, during the Milan Games Week 2021, also lost the final of the PG Nationals Winter 2021 against the MCK. Aqui, Gemini, Scatto, Sasha and Lollo still lived an extraordinary year, crowned with the victory in the European Challenger League 2021 - Qualifier 1 and participation in the Six Invitational 2021. The tiredness after such an intense and exciting year, however, must made themselves heard and the Italian boys were unable to express themselves at their best against opponents who by now know them perfectly.

Groups and playoffs

The formation of the Mkers in R6S The regrets for the Mkers must however, there are many, given that during the group stage they have shown that they can compete on an equal footing with all these European-level teams. Indeed, they won Group D in front of the HellRaisers, the team that would then reach the finals of the European Challenger League 2021 through the Loser Bracket.

The other finalist, MNM Gaming, on the other hand, maintained a very high level of play for the entire duration of the competition. After winning the group with a clear 3-0, the British team lost only one round during the playoffs, against Totem Esports. The Italian team, now composed only of French players and also registered in transalpine tournaments, after having qualified as runner-up, eliminated the Mkers in the quarterfinals, only to be defeated by MNM Gaming in the semifinals. Slipped into the Loser Bracket, the Totems managed to overtake the Viperio 86, only to lose against the HellRaisers in the semifinals. In this way, the French / Italians won fourth place and a prize of 7500 euros.

In third place we find DeathroW. The French team, after winning Group C, had a fairly smooth path to the Upper Bracket Finals, which they lost 2-0 to MNM Gaming. A defeat that must have cracked the safety of Adriano and his teammates, who then lost the final of the fished out 2-1 against the HellRaisers.
