Secret Wars movie announced (and Marvel fans go crazy)

It seemed impossible, but the long-awaited moment has finally arrived. At San Diego Comic-Con Kevin Feige has officially announced the Secret Wars movie, an adaptation of one of the most important Marvel crossovers ever. It will be called Avengers: Secret Wars and will arrive in theaters on November 7, 2025.

Secret Wars movie announced

As revealed by the patron of Marvel Studios, the film will part of Phase 6 of the MCU and will close the Multiverse Saga, this is the official name given to the saga that began with Phase 4 and is still in progress. No announcements about the cast and director, although the Russo brothers had recently spoken out about it.

Secret Wars was also the name of the crossover scripted by Jonathan Hickman in 2015, where the various alternate dimensions to the main Marvel universe have been canceled, including the Ultimate one. We still don't know if the film will be based on this run or the previous one.

But that's not all, because Avengers will be released in 2025: Kang Dynasty. This means we will have two Avengers movies in the same year. Kang Dynasty will hit theaters on May 2, so before Secret Wars. The character of Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) will instead make his debut in the third Ant-Man film, coming in 2023. His presence in the MCU, however, was heavily teased in the finale of Loki's first season.

The announcement of Secret Wars obviously sent fans on social media into a jujube soup, which literally went wild, demonstrating their irrepressible hype. We'll see if and how faithful the Secret Wars film will be to its print counterpart. In the past there were rumors of a return of Garfield and Maguire again in the shoes of their respective versions of Spider-Man, which already appeared in No Way Home.
