Marvel announces Joe Fixit

The rich Marvel Comics announcements at San Diego Comic-Con have shown how the publishing house has not forgotten some of the key moments of its past, given that among the thunderous previews of big events like the Dark Web, welcome flashbacks have been revealed that will repeat in auge historical run of the characters of the House of Ideas. Within this editorial line there will be the return of Peter David and his Joe Fixit, aka Hulk Gray, given the announcement of Joe Fixit, a new series dedicated to this version of the Jade Giant created by David and Todd McFarlane for The Incredible Hulk # 32 4 in 1986.

Peter David will return to write Joe Fixit, his gangster version of the Gray Hulk

The gray version of the alter ego by Bruce Banner was introduced by Al Milgrom, but it was Peter David who turned him into a figure dear to Hulk readers. Curiously, the color of this version of the Hulk is a return to the origins, when the skin of the mighty thug was gray, later being changed to green for printing reasons. In announcing this new miniseries, David recalled his relationship with the character:

"When I created Joe Fixit years ago, it was just a gimmick to stir up the scene a bit. Traditionally, Bruce would have created a situation where he would find himself dreading the Hulk's arrival that would ruin everything. The plot with Joe revolutionized everything, putting the Hulk in the role of being the protagonist with the fear that the appearance of Banner could ruin his life. I had no idea that this character would have this power, and that much of what he did would later also arrive in the pages of The Immortal Hulk. I am thrilled that Marvel has allowed me to meet this old friend again "| ); }

Marvel Comics Announces Return Of The Hulk's JOE FIXIT Persona In 2023 With Original Writer Peter David

Peter David is known for his legendary and impactful run on Incredible Hulk, but his acclaimed work on the Jade Giant's mythos is far from over...we just won't be spending time with the Green Goliath!

Having just finished an epic trilogy of limited series that told the grand saga of Hulk villain Maestro, David will now turn his attention to another iconic creation of his: Joe Fixit. The fan-favourite Hulk persona that muscled his way through Las Vegas as a hedonistic bodyguard will star in his very own limited series set during David’s original time on Incredible Hulk.

Joining David in this Sin City adventure will be artist Yildiray Cinar (The Marvels).

'When I created Joe Fixit decades ago, it was merely as a means to shake up the standard formula,' David explained. 'Typically Bruce would have set up some sort of situation and he would be worried that the Hulk would inevitably show up and screw things up. The storyline with Joe flipped the formula on its head, and set up the Hulk with his great situation in Vegas and he was worried that Bruce would show up to screw things up.'

'I had no idea that the character would have this much staying power, and that so much would eventually be done with him in the pages of the Immortal Hulk,' the writer continues. 'I’m thrilled that Marvel has given me this opportunity to revisit with an old friend.'

Joe Fixit has always been one of the most popular Hulk personas, and if it wasn't for the fact that this series isn't launching until 2023, we'd say this might be a hint where the character is heading in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Either way, it's about time we see him brought into the MCU in some form.
