WWE SummerSlam: the complete matchcard of the great summer event

WWE SummerSlam

SummerSlam, the biggest event of the summer at WWE, is almost upon us: it will be held on the Italian night between Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd August. Between great returns, on all those of John Cena and Bill Goldberg, and the mythical setting of the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the show promises to be unmissable and full of twists. Let's analyze the complete matchcard of the “Biggest Party of the Summer”.

The matches that will be staged at SummerSlam

Raw Women’s Championship: Nikki A.S.H. (C) vs Rhea Ripley vs Charlotte Flair - Triple Threat Match

The Scottish superstar shocked the WWE Universe by winning the Money in the Bank and cashing in on Charlotte Flair on the July 19 episode of Raw, graduating for the first career time champion of the red show. At SummerSlam Nikki A.S.H. she will face her biggest challenge to date when she faces Nature Boy's daughter and Rhea Ripley in the same match.

WWE SmackDown Women's Championship - Bianca Belair (C) vs Sasha Banks

After the historic victory in the main event on the first night of WrestleMania 37 (here the full report), Bianca Belair was the undisputed star of the women's division of SmackDown, overtaking Bayley, Carmella and many other level opponents. With the return of former champion Sasha Banks, however, her reign has been questioned and there is no longer a friendly atmosphere and mutual respect between the two.

Alexa Bliss vs Eva Marie

The five-time female champion, strong in her supernatural powers, would like to pass Eva Marie to the "dark side", putting an end to the much vaunted "Eva-Lution". The latter, however, has an exceptional ally on her side: former NXT UK superstar Piper Niven, who now goes by the name of Doudrop.

Drew McIntyre vs Jinder Mahal

The two former members of 3MB will come to blows in that of SummerSlam. After the loss of the WWE Championship, Drew McIntyre continued to be one of the great protagonists of Raw, but ended up in the crosshairs of Jinder Mahal and his two allies, Veer and Shanky. The summer event will be an opportune moment for reckoning.

Edge vs Seth Rollins

A "First Time Ever" awaited for years. Seth Rollins interfered in the match between Roman Reigns and the Canadian superstar, shattering his chance to become Universal Champion. After weeks of vitriolic promo, Edge and Rollins will finally come to blows at SummerSlam. A match that could steal the show between two absolute ring artists.

WWE United States Championship: Sheamus (C) vs Damian Priest

The former star NXT has had a totally upward path since his arrival on the main roster and SummerSlam could become United States Champion for the first time in his career. On his way, however, Sheamus, who after suffering a nose injury, proved to be more aggressive than ever.

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships: The Usos (C) vs Dominik & Rey Mysterio

After losing their duo titles in Money in The Bank, Dominik and Rey are ready to get back on top. The Usos, however, are willing to do anything to keep the belts anchored around the waist, also strong in the alliance with Roman Reigns.

WWE Championship: Bobby Lashley (C) vs Goldberg

Bobby Lashley's Raw Ruler reign has reached its tipping point. The All Mighty was challenged by a champion who made history like Goldberg, who wants to take back the crown once again. In a challenge between giants, for an absolute unprecedented, there is a lot of hype.

WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (C) vs John Dinner

The challenge between two titans, between two symbols from two different eras.
