PlayStation Store, Psychonauts 2 and Baldo

Interesting week on PlayStation Store: the Sony digital platform sees the arrival of two particularly anticipated titles, namely Psychonauts 2, the new adventure developed by Double Fine Productions, and Baldo: The Guardian Owls, the latest game from the Italian Naps team Team.

The releases, however, do not end there: the cooperative-based shooter Aliens: Fireteam Elite, the PS5 versions of Little Nightmares 2 and Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts 2, the acclaimed strategic RPG, are also available King's Bounty 2 and finally two decidedly peculiar productions: Super Animal Royale and Islanders.

Psychonauts 2

Psychonauts 2, the complete team The new chapter of the famous Double Fine Productions series also arrives on PlayStation 4, bringing with it the inevitable load of humor, platforms and spectacular psychic powers. Psychonauts 2 (PS4, € 59.99) is this and much more: a very inspired adventure, of great depth also from a narrative point of view, thanks to a Tim Schafer in a state of grace, who tells the vicissitudes of the young Raz and the difficult mission to put the Psychonauts organization back on track.

Completing the enterprise will involve crossing the human psyche once again, with all the risks and vicissitudes that this entails, as we will be able to learn from from the first bars of a campaign that loves to surprise users by introducing always new and different ideas, mixing the cards on the table and trying to experiment both in terms of gameplay and in terms of visual representation.

The protagonist starts with a set of psychic powers, in this case a melee attack, fire control, telekinesis, levitation and the ability to generate powerful bullets and explosions. However, in the course of the adventure he will come into possession of further abilities, all of which can be improved through the use of credits earned in the field, which will allow him to come to terms with unprecedented and potentially lethal situations.

Despite all these facets, fights are certainly not the best part of the experience: as we explained in the review of Psychonauts 2, the charm of the game lies in its ability to create incredible worlds, with surprising design, and push us to explore them even in search of any secrets to discover, always ready to come across something new.

Baldo: The Guardian Owls

Baldo: The Guardian Owls, the protagonist struggling with a new village to explore Inspired in a clear way to the graphic style of the works of Studio Ghibli and the mechanics of classics such as The Legend of Zelda, Baldo: The Guardian Owls (PS4, € 24.99) is a particularly and interesting and ambitious, especially if we consider that it was developed by a historic Italian team made up of just two people.

The protagonist of the game is Baldo, a boy with a pure heart who, in the company of Luna, discovers that he is somehow predestined to live an exciting adventure. Having come into possession of some legendary objects, the young man will have to explore a large island and its cities, get to know its inhabitants and help them solve small and big problems, but also face the pitfalls of an ancient evil that has awakened in the sudden.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite

Aliens: Fireteam Elite, the Marines committed to vaporize the Xenomorphs The latest videogame transposition of the famous film saga, Aliens: Fireteam Elite (PS5 and PS4, 39, 99 €) offers a cooperative shooter experience for three participants in which our task will be precisely to face hordes of dangerous Xenomorphs in a context very similar to what is represented in the second film of the series.

The Marines protagonists of the game respond to a desperate request for help from the planet LV-895, where a detachment of the Weyland-Yutani was attacked precisely by aliens. We will therefore have to go to the place, load the weapons and go in search of any survivors, aware that what we will find will be mostly dangerous, lethal creatures with a strong tendency to come out of the fucking walls. More details in our review of Aliens: Fireteam Elite.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts 2

Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts 2, the moment before the decisive shot Lagging behind the PS4 version , available since last June, Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 (PS5, € 39.99) debuts this week also on PlayStation 5, thus offering us a precision shooter technically in line with the capabilities of the next-gen Sony platform in terms of resolution, frame rate and effects.

Under the command of the infallible sniper Raven, we will have to complete a difficult task in a Middle Eastern region where dangerous groups of criminals move. Needless to say, our task will consist in framing the targets in the crosshairs and eliminating them from a distance, but also reacting to the inevitable counter-offensives of the opponents. More details in the Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 review.

Little Nightmares 2

Little Nightmares 2, a particularly disturbing sequence Next-gen version also for Little Nightmares 2 (PS5, 29, 99 €), which took a bit of a wait compared to the PS4 edition but has a free upgrade for all owners of the game and the improvements that can be expected from such an operation, in this case two different graphic modes: one at dynamic 4K and 60 fps, the other at real 4K and 30 frames per second.

We will therefore be able to face Mono's disturbing adventure in the Maw in an even more engaging way, letting Six help us to find a way to escape from this nightmare scenario, inhabited by scary creatures that will not fail to hunt us and characterized by a truly fascinating design, which we will be able to explore thoroughly to appreciate its many peculiarities. King's Bounty 2

King's Bounty II, a strategic phase King's Bounty 2 (PS4, € 59.99) is the new episode of the famous RPG series 1C Company, characterized by a large medieval open world in which we will have to take on the role of a brave leader engaged in a series of exciting battles to restore peace in the kingdom of Antara, devastated by a violent war for the independence of the counties. >
Although it does not shine in terms of role-playing elements, as highlighted in our review of King's Bounty 2, the game has a brilliant and full-bodied strategic structure, full of tactical facets that allow you to organize actions with great freedom and introducing among the available maneuvers also a set of spells able to make a difference.

More games to come

Super Animal Royale, a furious clash between two characters The rich week of the PlayStation Store closes with the arrival of two more titles. The first is Super Animal Royale (PS5 and PS4, free), an original free-to-play battle royale in which we will be able to control funny animals that face each other in multiplayer-based battles, open to the participation of sixty-four players.

Islanders (PS4, € 4.99) is the console version of a rather popular strategy game, capable of offering a minimalist experience both from a graphic and gameplay point of view, with particularly simple and immediate mechanics that allow you to create your own cities from scratch within colorful and ever-changing islands, thanks to a procedural generation system.
