Windows 10 21H1 to Insiders with three new features

As soon as the arrival of the 21H1 update for Windows 10 was confirmed, the Redmond group kicked off the distribution of its preview version to Insiders. We know that it will not be a major update, but the package will still include some noteworthy new features.

Windows 10 21H1: new for Windows Hello

The first and most interesting of those that emerged it's about Windows Hello, the authentication technology developed by Microsoft. On devices equipped with multiple cameras or webcams, users will be able to choose which one to perform facial recognition through, thanks to the inclusion of an unprecedented option called "Priority mode setting".

Improvements are also reported performance for Windows Defender and WMI GPSVC (Windows Management Instrumentation Group Policy Service), in the latter case in order to respond to feedback from those who work remotely in smart working mode.

The release of 21H1 is expected by spring. Later, during the second semester, it will be the turn of what can now be defined as a major update, an important update that will intervene among other things on the Windows 10 interface through an already known restyling. codenamed Sun Valley. Thus the Redmond group will give a refresh to the look of the platform, which has remained almost identical to itself since the launch dating back to 2015.

2021 will also welcome the debut of the 10X version initially promised by Microsoft for dual screen devices (such as Surface Neo) or with a folding screen, then adapted in the running to laptops with the aim of launching a gauntlet to Google's Chrome OS and at least partially recover the ground lost in the last period.
