PlayStation Store: Persona 5 Strikers and The Sinking City

PlayStation Store

PlayStation Store is also the protagonist this week of an update not exactly full-bodied, but able to offer PS5 and PS4 owners some undoubtedly interesting experiences, such as the musou-style spin-off Persona 5 Strikers and the next-gen version of The Sinking City, the adventure developed by Frogwares that is inspired by the scary world created by HP Lovecraft.

However, these are not the only novelties on the Sony digital platform: the action platform Pumpkin Jack, the interesting roguelike Curse of the Dead Gods, the clone of the classic Crazy Taxi, Taxi Chaos, and a bundle with the two episodes of Turok in a remastered version.

Persona 5 Strikers

Persona 5 Strikers, here's Joker in action. Atlus has seen fit to exploit the extraordinary success of Persona 5 to create a musou-style action spin-off that could preserve the incredible atmospheres of the series but decline them in a different, more frenetic and spectacular way. This is how the idea of Persona 5 Strikers (PS4, 59.99 euros) was born, now available on PlayStation Store.

From a narrative point of view, the game is set immediately after the events of the fifth chapter in its original version (therefore not the extended and enriched experience of Persona 5 Royal) and therefore provides a unique opportunity to discover what happened to the various characters and their world, still threatened by the darkness inherent in people's hearts.

Persona 5 Strikers, a spectacular action sequence. There is more work to do for the Phantom Thieves, in short, who this time find themselves facing the mysterious Alice: a girl with disturbing powers, able to create an alternative and distorted reality compared to ours in which they harbor precisely evil and corruption. . It will be up to us to ward off evil, using the skills of our team.

Compared to the various Dynasty Warriors, Persona 5 Strikers introduces important innovations on the gameplay front, also allowing us to approach an opponent in stealth mode and eliminate him silently instead of involving us every time in the open-faced battles that characterize this action sub-genre.

The Sinking City

The Sinking City, here is the protagonist of the adventure. More than a year and a half after its release on PS4, The Sinking City (PS5, 49.99 euros) arrives a little by surprise on the next-gen Sony console, with a new edition that aims to exploit the technical capabilities of PlayStation 5. In fact, the game runs at 4K and 60 fps, also improving effects and significantly reducing loading times compared to the original.

Unfortunately, the legal disputes between Frogwares and the original publisher are still pending, and it is for this reason, owners of the PlayStation 4 version will not bea> able to take advantage of a free upgrade or unlock the new features by purchasing a special low-cost package.

The Sinking City boasts a fascinating and evocative scenario. That said, the adventure inspired by the novels of H.P. Lovecraft presents himself in the new role of him in a convincing way, bringing with him the strengths and weaknesses that we had already encountered last year. As a private investigator, we will have the task of investigating the evil that has infested a city and its inhabitants, but we will be faced with something that is beyond our imagination.

This particular aspect of the experience it was rendered in an interesting way, with an indicator that allows us to keep the protagonist's sanity under control, destined to falter whenever we have to deal with inexplicable and disturbing situations. Will we be brave enough to continue the investigation and finally discover the truth about the sinking city?

More games to come

Pumpkin Jack and his mysterious protagonist. Pumpkin Jack (PS4, 29.99 euros) arrived with a certain delay on the Sony console compared to other platforms, no one knows why. Developed by a single person, the game comes in the form of an action platformer with lots of combat, in which we control Jack, a supernatural pumpkin-headed warrior who is tasked with defeating evil.

Curse of the Dead Gods (PS4, € 19.99) is instead a roguelike with a disturbing and engaging atmosphere, in which we will have to explore a dark and mysterious place in search of treasures, while paying attention to the many pitfalls and enemies that it takes dead. Not an irresistible challenge for expert users, but certainly enjoyable.

Turok, here are the remaster graphics. Turok Bundle (PS4, 29.99 euros) collects in a single solution the remasters of the original Turok and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, made by Night Dive Studios. A dive into the past that the nostalgics of the classic for Nintendo 64 cannot miss!

Taxi Chaos (PS4, 29.99 euros), finally, is clearly inspired by the classic Crazy Taxi to catapult us into an experience fun and colorful arcade. As in the SEGA title, our task will be to take as many customers and bring them to their destination as quickly as possible, venturing madly through the streets of New Yellow City.
