A replica of the Ferrari 330 P2 Junior made by the French coachbuilder De La Chapelle was auctioned for 110,000 euros

The Ferrari 330 P2 Junior from De La Chapelle sold for 110,000 euros (133,325 dollars). car for children cost the beauty of 110 thousand euros? The answer is yes. The car in question exists and on February 13 it was sold at an RM-Sotheby's auction in Paris for exactly 133,325 dollars. This is a replica of the Ferrari 330 P2 Junior made by the French coachbuilder De La Chapelle.

All this happened in a rather random way since the object in question was actually valued at just 5-10 thousand euros, however, through a real "war" of offers, it managed to increase its price tenfold. Carrying the serial number 28 and produced in the early 1990s, this specimen auctioned is in perfect condition. Powered by a 5 horsepower Honda engine (as well as all other De La Chapelle Junior replicas), it was built following a special order and finished in traditional Ferrari red.

In 1980 when these cars they were built for the first time, they were the "perfect" toys for anyone with a child and a full-size Ferrari in their garage. De La Chapelle was an independent automobile manufacturer, best known for making replica cars powered by BMW, Peugeot and Mercedes engines. In addition to this, the company has also produced a variety of gasoline-powered "Junior" replicas, which have proved very successful for the company, so much so that BMW itself commissioned two limited series of the 328.

Previously a De La Chappelle Ferrari 330 P2 Junior was sold in another RM-Sotheby's Amelia Island auction in March 2015 at $ 66,125, while the previous record for "toy" cars belonged to a 180 Testa Rossa by Luigi Chinetti Motors which in 2013 was paid over 126 thousand dollars.
