SumUp buys Tiller for delivery and take away
SumUp, the mobile POS system for mobile payments, has announced a targeted acquisition that will offer the group exclusive benefits in a rapidly expanding sector: delivery and take away catering. This is the acquisition of Tiller, a cashier system for restaurants that has staked a lot in recent months to offer services to local entrepreneurs.

SumUp, take-away bet

In fact, one thing is clear: as soon as the pandemic slows down its grip, it will return to restaurants to recover the sphere linked to sociability, but at the same time what lived in 2020 has outlined a new way of living the gastronomic experience and will be increasingly widespread the habit of a "home restaurant" with remote purchases and payments on delivery. "Fintech", announces the group with its official communication, "will have even more innovative solutions available to support a strategic sector for the whole country such as catering, which needs to simplify its processes to make the business as sustainable as possible “.

Hence SumUp's choice to enrich its suite of services, operating linearly with the previous acquisitions of Debitoor (2018), Shoplo (2019) and Goodtill (2020).

Faced with an active collaboration since 2015, we have observed over the years Tiller's exceptional path and its extraordinary technology. Tiller is already well established in the main markets where SumUp is present such as Italy, France and Spain. We are confident that together we will be able to offer increasingly effective solutions to retailers in the restaurant and hospitality sector, driving the Italian economy, and to further grow in new markets

Maximilian Stella, Vice President New SumUp Ventures

To access SumUp services, a mobile POS costing € 24.99 is sufficient (at the moment it is available with a discount of € 5 on Amazon).
