Daihatsu amazes everyone with a preview of five new concepts
The Covid-19 pandemic has inevitably drastically marked many events dedicated to the automotive sector. In fact, the list of events related to the world of cars canceled due to the coronavirus is lengthening; the last "eliminated" event is the Tokyo Auto Salon 2021, which should have taken place in the capital between January 15 and 17.

Every year, at the Tokyo Auto Salon, many car manufacturers present new and exciting creations, and although the next edition will take place in an exclusively virtual way, the manufacturers have not lost the opportunity to propose inevitably unique and customized prototypes. This is the case of the Japanese car manufacturer Daihatsu which has in fact decided to present a preview of the cars that will take part in the famous event. For about ten years, Daihatsu, a brand owned by Toyota, has paid particular attention to Japan and the Asian markets, where there is a demand for small and medium-sized cars, also known as keicars. So let's see in detail the series of five undoubtedly original concepts.

Hijet Jumbo Sportza Ver

The first creation can be considered more than unique and original in its style, let's talk about the Daihatsu Hijet Jumbo Sportza Ver based on the Jumbo commercial vehicle, which at the event will therefore show in roadster version. What stands out is certainly the particularity of the racing details, with a sporty bumper and a very small windshield implemented to shelter the passengers from the wind. Inside, there are red shaped seats that recall the color used for the particular rims. The great result obtained by the Japanese car manufacturer is probably the first roadster van in the world even if the characteristics of the powertrain have not been widespread. However, we know that the Jumbo is equipped with a 46 or 52 HP engine, depending on the choice between a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.

Hijet Jumbo Camper Ver

Design also exclusive for the small commercial vehicle Hijet Jumbo Camper Ver. The Camper Ver combines a futuristic design completed by a full-length roof rack useful for any trips outside the city. The car is shown with a cover inevitably characterized by a military motif on the body. However, what gives it a unique personality are the details of the front that make you think of a real face with circular headlights that look like eyes and the lower part very similar to a mouth.

Copen Spyder Ver

The third prototype of the Japanese manufacturer is shown with a decidedly sporty style. We are talking about the Copen Spyder Ver, a two-seater car with an aggressive look on which the company has worked in order to emphasize its appearance and sporty character. It is no coincidence that the first generation of the Copen was sold in Italy during the 2000s. However, it is necessary to reiterate that the Spyder Ver has a decidedly more aggressive look than the standard version thanks to the small windshield that transforms it from a convertible to a real roadster. br>

Taft Crossfield Ver

There is also a vehicle designed with off-road enthusiasts in mind. The Daihatsu Taft Crossfield Ver is in fact the inevitably more off-road version of the Japanese crossover Taft. The car is characterized by the increased height and a majestic appearance, with a bull bar that ensures greater safety for the vehicle's passengers and specific off-road tires even for extreme conditions on the most demanding routes. Do not miss the implementation of large LED headlights and special bars positioned on the roof that offer more space for all luggage.

Thor Premium Ver

The latest creation is the Daihatsu Thor Premium Ver, a minivan that stands out for its decidedly muscular and squared lines and shapes. Not surprisingly, its lines are reminiscent of the Daihatsu Materia, undoubtedly one of the most practical cars on the automotive scene, from its birth (2007) until 2013. The Thor was therefore born as a direct heir of the Materia and, inevitably, the work carried out in the end he sees the designers focus on its sportiness. In addition, the two-tone paintwork chosen and the large alloy wheels that the Japanese manufacturer has decided to implement underline the vehicle's unique singularity.

The small concepts will be the protagonists of the Tokyo 2021 virtual car show that will have however I will start next January 15th, with great news for the Daihatsu Village Colorful Carnival edition.
