Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War & Warzone: Season 5 starts a little later

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War & Warzone

Actually, the starting shot for Season 5 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty Warzone should already be given on Thursday. But the fans of the two shooter offshoots have to be patient a little longer than previously thought, for better or worse. The developers decided to postpone the start at short notice.

Fortunately, the additional waiting time is limited. As the development team has revealed via Twitter, Season 5 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (buy now / € 53.99) and Call of Duty Warzone will start on August 13, 2021 - tomorrow Friday. It starts in the early hours of the morning at 6:00 a.m. German time. It is not yet known why the developers decided to make this short-term postponement. The official statement states that players should be given additional time to possibly reach Tier 100 with the current Season Pass.

Numerous innovations await you as part of Season 5. Among other things, two new game modes are planned with Double Agent and Demolition. Double Agent is a bit similar to Among Us in terms of gameplay, as you need to track down a type of double agent as quickly as possible - hence the name. In addition, a total of five new maps are on the program for the course of the season. These are "Echelon", "Slums", "Showroom", "Zoo" and "Drive-In". Furthermore, you can be prepared for a map update. Accordingly, the "Mobile Broadcast Stations" celebrate their debut in the battle royale shooter.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has become my go-to competitive game this year. I’ve spent more time with this game than any other in 2021, and I honestly enjoy it more than Modern Warfare or Warzone at this point. I really wish there were a dedicated Battle Royale for Cold War that actually played like Cold War instead of Modern Warfare since the two play nothing at all alike. Oh well.

I’m excited for the new season which brings five new maps to the game and lots of other welcome content. Curiously, none of the new maps are for the Fireteam / Multi-team modes or even for the larger multiplayer modes. Four are 6v6 and one is a Gunfight map. Music to my ears!
