Diablo 4: The Slayer returns as a playable class

Diablo 4

Diablo fans received some exciting news during this current BlizzCon. In addition to a remaster of the extremely popular Diablo 2, there were also updates for the upcoming Diablo 4. In this, the slayer returns as a playable class after more than 20 years. The Slayer is a mixture of the Assassin from Diablo 2 and the Demon Hunter from Diablo 3. According to Blizzard, the Slayer is supposed to capture the identities of the two classes, but operate as something completely separate.

"We have the Slayer out Took Diablo 1 as an aesthetic starting point, then we took some elements from other skill classes and added new ideas that would go well with the Diablo Slayer. "

The Slayer can do both close and long range combat be played. Players who like to ambush demons will feel just as comfortable with the Slayer as those who want to kill their enemies with a hail of arrows. In addition, the new class has some unique abilities that make it more self-evident. So the weapons - and thus also the skills - of the hunter can be enchanted with a certain element. This system is "brand new" in Diablo and has not yet been used in any other class.

The hunter can also take on one of three specializations.

"There are different groups of hunter NPCs in the world. When you complete a quest with them, you unlock a specialization. You can complete all quests , but only have one specialization active at a time. "

The Slayer's three specializations are Combo Points, Shadow Realm, and Exploit Weakness. Combo Points should "almost turn the fights into a rhythm game". Shadow Realm, on the other hand, focuses on building an ultimate ability that can be used both offensively and defensively. With Exploit Weakness, the Slayer deals bonus damage, while opponents charge a strong attack.

Due to the different specializations and the element system, the Slayer is said to be the most flexible Diablo class ever made. However, until we can convince ourselves of this, we will have to wait until at least 2022.

Diablo 4 release date

The video game publisher is yet to offer any details on the Diablo 4 release date. Fans should note that there have been speculations suggesting that the game will not launch anytime this year, although it hasn't been confirmed.

At the moment, it is known that Diablo 4 will be available across Windows PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X / S and Xbox One platforms when it finally drops. It is also clear that the upcoming sequel will be an action role-playing title that features an extensive open-world setup. The game will also see the return of Lilith, the daughter of Mephisto. Interestingly, fans will also have five customizable Diablo 4 classes, where each class promises to offer far more customization options than earlier games in the series.

The customization feature will play a vital role in the game's storytelling and it will allow the player to completely change the appearance of their character. This also includes the ability to experiment with different hairstyles, eye colour, jewellery, ethnicity, facial scars, and much more. However, it seems unlikely that the game will allow players to fully customize their in-game characters using sliders and other such settings available with certain role-playing titles.

Blizzard Entertainment has also been working on some real-time cutscenes in order to bring out the best narrative moments in the game.
