PS5: FromSoftware's new exclusive souls-like and new Wipeout in development, leak

According to a new leak, a new souls-like is being developed by FromSoftware that will be exclusive to Sony's PS5 console. In addition, there is also a new Wipeout in development. Let's see all the details about it.

First of all, regarding the new souls-like from FromSoftware for PS5, the first source to report it is @HazzardorGamin. According to what has been indicated, the State of Play will be on August 19 and will show the new game from FromSoftware which, however, is not Bloodborne 2. According to Hazzardor, the source of this rumor is the same that has unveiled the "Isle of Iki" DLC, included in Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut. To this we add, however, Shpeshal_Nick, a well-known leaker, who (with a bit of annoyance at being beaten on time) confirmed that he had planned to reveal this leak next week. Nick "confirms" FromSoftware's PS5 game, but doesn't confirm the date of the event, anyway.

To make sure not to be beaten again and even at the cost of annoying someone, Nick has decided to share a second leak: a new Wipeout is coming. The game is planned for PS5 but also for PlayStation VR 2. Nick believes the developer is XDEV, although he can't confirm it. Finally, specify that this is an early development project.

Rumors about a new Sony PlayStation event dedicated to PS5 and PS4</a> have been circulating for some time. Could these two games be part of Sony's next State of Play? A well-known figure from the world of video games also commented on the recent rumors.

PS5 Restock Update for Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Amazon, PS Direct, Antonline and More

PS5 restocks have been quite infrequent over the past week, leaving you with limited options for getting your hands on Sony's next-gen hardware.

Here is a breakdown of the latest information.

Best Buy PS5 Restock

As we reported in our previous update, reputable console tracker Matt Swider is forecasting that a PS5 restock at Best Buy is imminent.

The only problem with that is that Best Buy's restock patterns have become increasingly unpredictable lately, meaning that you will need to remain constantly vigilant. Indeed, Swider's sources (who are responsible for managing the retailer's inventory levels) have hinted that the 'add to cart' button could go live any day now.

Newsweek will continue to monitor the situation and will publish more details as and when they are confirmed.

A handful of Target stores were selling PS5s on Tuesday, August 10, but this did not constitute a nationwide restock.

Units were only available in certain locations and your ability to place an order was entirely dependent on your ZIP code. If a nearby store had the console in stock, then you would be able to make a purchase. Otherwise, the 'add to cart' button would display as greyed out.

Even if you were in one of the lucky areas, supplies were very limited across the board, so your chances of getting a PS5 were still quite slim.

In terms of when the next proper Target restock will occur, there is no word yet on a date. However, the merchant always releases its new units between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. ET, so we can at least narrow it down to the early morning.

After replenishing its inventory last week, Walmart has yet to stock up on additional PS5 units.

Generally speaking, the outlet coordinates its drops on a fortnightly basis, and (with a few exceptions) they almost always occur on Thursdays at 3 p.m. ET. As such, we can infer that the next restock is likely to take place on the afternoon of August 19.

That being said, it might be worth keeping an eye on Walmart's social media channels on August 12, just in case there is a surprise announcement.

You are currently unable to purchase a PlayStation 5 from GameStop.

While you wait for the merchant to get its next batch of supplies, you might want to consider signing up for their 'PowerUp Rewards Pro' membership. GameStop's last few sales have been reserved exclusively for these premium customers (leaving regular shoppers unable to place an order), so joining the loyalty scheme could be advantageous.

To guarantee that you will be eligible for the next GameStop restock, you can register for a PowerUp Pro membership on their website. The annual cost is $14.99.

Sony's restocks are usually telegraphed a little in advance, as their official storefront will send out email notifications when it is about to release new PlayStation units.

Whenever PS Direct is planning to open its virtual line, it invites randomly selected PSN users to join early. These emails will give a date and time for the next restock and so word tends to get out.

There have been no reports of any such emails being delivered over the past week, indicating that the next drop is still a way off.

The PS5 remains out of stock at Antonline, but there are a few Xbox Series S bundles available.

The PS5 is not available in any Newegg shuffles right now. To be alerted when the next lottery draw will open, follow dedicated console trackers like @mattswider and @GYXdeals on Twitter.

At the time of writing, you are unable to add a PS5 to your Amazon basket. The online marketplace has not restocked since Prime Day nearly two months ago, and there is no indication of when this will change.

Check PS5 restock at Amazon.Costco PS5 Restock

Costco very rarely has the PS5 in stock nowadays, but if the retailer is ever selling the console then @mattswider and @GYXdeals will be the first to let you know.
