Numbers and facts

The Nintendo podcast: Great review of our chat hour (2) Source: PC Games By the end of the year, a total of 56 new episodes had appeared in 2020. Of these 52 "normal" issues, 3 particularly current mini-episodes and 1 special retro pilot episode. Johannes lands in first place in the podcast team and was featured in 52 of the 56 episodes, Lukas in second place has 44 episodes and Katha was heard 20 times. And while we're on the facts and figures: In 2020 we podcasted a little over 76 hours. An episode lasted around 1 hour and 22 minutes on average, if you count the mini episodes. And as we know from you, many listeners have listened to all episodes in full; in many cases, it is always right on time for publication. Not only did you tell us about this many times in your comments, but you also showed it in many cases with your Spotify annual review at the end of November. Incidentally, that made us extremely happy, so we would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for your unending loyalty!

Special consequences

The Nintendo podcast: Great review of our chat (4) source : The Nintendo Podcast As mentioned briefly, some special episodes have appeared over the past year. We published the first mini edition (Mini # 2) of the Pokémon DLC on January 10th. The next mini-episode (Mini # 3) followed just one week later on January 17th, this time for the then new DLC for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Byleth from Fire Emblem! On January 29th we ventured into a completely new format with episode # 75: A big Nintendo quiz with a total of 50 questions! Johannes was the moderator and questioner, Katha and Lukas competed against each other. Not only was it a lot of fun for us, it was also well received by you, which is why we're going to the next round this year and will be holding another big Nintendo quiz! On February 21, the next and so far last mini-episode (Mini # 4) of Animal Crossing: New Horizons followed. On March 18, you listened to us from your home office for the first time (which has been the case much more often since then) and on April 17, a hitherto unique special retro episode of Conker's Bad Fur Day (# 87) appeared at who could only be heard from Johannes. On July 15th we celebrated our first really big anniversary with 100 (regular) episodes - yay!

Topics of the year

The Nintendo podcast: Great review of our chat hour (5) Source: PC Games In the podcast we usually discuss some brand new topics from the Nintendo world every week, in addition to other categories such as community, games of the week or bargains from the eShop. Some topics stayed with us all year long and kept coming up, be it due to news, rumors or questions from listeners. One such topic is, for example, the supposed Switch Pro, which we talked about over and over again throughout the year. The question of the next "big" Direct was often the basis of discussions and speculations. The same applies to the two Switch games, Metroid Prime 4 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, which have been in development for some time. Thanks to regular new content, updates and DLCs, we kept talking about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Animal Crossing: New Horizons kept us busy before the release, during the period of the release and due to the enormous success and hype throughout 2020. Pokémon, especially the current generation of swords / shields, was also a topic again and again, as was Nintendo's incredible success in general in the past year. At the end of 2020 we chatted about gaming topics outside of Nintendo, primarily the Playstation 5 and the new Xbox - both appeared in November 2020.

Community <3

The Nintendo podcast: Great review of our chat hour (3) Source: PC Games The whole year round, and without any exception or break, we have the community, our dear and loyal listeners! In addition to our passion for gaming and Nintendo games and topics, it was primarily them that motivated us week after week to research, write scripts, record for hours, edit and publish podcasts, organize competitions, retro - Working on topics, discussing new games and, sometimes under enormous time pressure, in addition to dozens of other tasks, publishing a new podcast every Wednesday punctually at 3 p.m. This reliability is sometimes the result of enormous effort and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for your loyalty and the countless comments, which are the greatest reward for our efforts and which motivate us to keep going. How many people were and we are affected by the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, the same applies to you, but despite all the adversities, we had a lot of fun with gaming and Nintendo together in 2020 and of course we will continue to do so. For the remainder of the pandemic and beyond. Because you can rely on one thing: The Nintendo podcast appears every Wednesday at 3 p.m. - of course, wherever there are podcasts!
