Nintendo Switch without brakes: exceeded the 18 million consoles sold in Japan!
Famitsu's new surveys on Japanese hardware and software sales data certify the overcoming of the 18 million Nintendo Switches marketed in the motherland by the Super Mario house.

Based on data collected by the editorial staff of the famous videogame portal of the Rising Sun, the 110,811 Switches (between hybrid and Lite models) sold in the week from 18 to 24 January allow the Nintendian platform to reach and exceed the frightening figure of 18 million consoles sold in the Japanese market alone.

For the second consecutive week, the Japanese Top 10 is occupied only by Switch games, further proof of the enormous attraction exercised in Japanese users by the hybrid console of the Kyoto house and its stock of titles.

On the hardware front, the success of Switch eclipses the still good results obtained by Sony in the sale of the two PlayStation 5 models with or without disc player. Despite the problem of PS5 stocks that make the Sony console unobtainable on the domestic market and internationally, the newcomer of the PlayStation family has managed to enter another 17,000 Japanese houses in the last seven days.

The report continues instead to say the least "conflict" between the Japanese players and the Xbox brand, certified by the sale of 386 Xbox Series X and only 38 Xbox Series Series S in the last week, for a total of 32,251 next-gen Microsoft platforms purchased in Japan since the day one.
