Taylor Swift Replaces Herself At No. 1 On The Country Sales Chart

It’s not surprising that whenever Taylor Swift releases a new song, it sells well, as she is one of the biggest names in the music industry...perhaps even the single most popular act on the planet right now. Still, her ability to sell singles these days, when most people have migrated to streaming platforms, is still impressive.

This frame, Swift debuts her new track 'Mr. Perfectly Fine'—officially titled “Mr. Perfectly Fine (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)”—at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales chart, the weekly ranking of the country tracks that actually sold the best. The cut was purchased by more than 6,300 people, according to MRC Data, which is enough for the tune to debut at No. 11 on the all-genre Digital Song Sales list.

That 6,300 sum is impressive, considering 'Mr. Perfectly Fine' was released on April 7, a Wednesday. The tracking week goes from Friday until the end of the following Thursday, so Swift’s latest drop only had less than two full days in which to rack up sales, and yet that was enough time for her to score another leader on the Country Digital Song Sales chart.

Swift replaces herself at No. 1 on the Country Digital Song Sales chart, as she debuted a different track atop the ranking last frame. Her previous winner, “You All Over Me (ft. Maren Morris) (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)” (yes, that’s actually the proper name) arrived as high as a title can climb thanks to just under 11,500 copies sold. Now, that release is down to No. 21 on the tally in just its second frame.

It’s not terribly common for any musician to replace themselves at No. 1 on any Billboard chart, as it typically requires a specific set of circumstances...and the artist in question must be among the biggest in the business, usually.

'Mr. Perfectly Fine' is Swift’s seventeenth No. 1 hit on the Country Digital Song Sales chart and her thirty-eighth top 10 smash. She’s now scored a trio of leaders from her album Fearless (Taylor’s Version), which was released just a few days ago. In addition to her current champion and “You All Over Me,” her updated take on “Love Story” also opened in first place back in February, when she first kicked off this latest campaign.

Next week should be huge for Swift on nearly every applicable Billboard chart, and she may very well dominate the Country Digital Song Sales ranking with the many songs featured on Fearless (Taylor’s Version).
