Here's what the ballot paper looks like and the instructions for casting your vote

How to vote in Lombardy

On the ballot paper, the same for both the president and the regional council, citizens can:
put an X on the name of the presidential candidate . In this way, the vote will not also go to the lists that support it; put an X on the mark of the chosen list . The vote in this case will also go to the corresponding presidential candidate; put an X on both a presidential candidate's name and a list flag that endorses him; put an X on the name of the candidate for president and on a list that does not support him: this method is called split voting. To express their preference for the regional council, citizens can write the names of the chosen councilor candidates on the lines next to the lists. For each list it is possible to nominate up to two candidates, provided that they are of different gender if they belong to the same list, otherwise the second preference will be cancelled.

Who is elected

There is no ballot for the regional elections in Lombardy: the candidate who obtains the most votes will be elected president, even if he does not reach an absolute majority. As far as directors are concerned, a proportional criterion is applied with a majority bonus for lists that support the elected candidate: 55% of the seats are assigned to lists that support the elected candidate if they get 40% of the votes; between 60% and 70% of the seats, on the other hand, are assigned to lists that support him if the candidate has obtained more than 40% of the votes.
