Elden Ring: the best weapons for a Dexterity build and where to find them

Elden Ring: the best weapons for a Dexterity build and where to find them

Elden Ring

In this Elden Ring guide we will talk about what we believe are the best weapons for a Dexterity attribute build and where to find them in the Interregnum.

Unlike Elden Ring's Force-based weaponry, the Dexterity weapons have less powerful attacks, but compensate with generally faster and more technical movesets. There are many valid death tools in this category and below we have focused on the ones that are ideal for a build that focuses mostly on the Dexterity attribute, thus excluding those that have important scaling on other stats.

Also, many of the options we'll talk about below are non-special weapons, which means you can infuse them with whatever war ash you like. For example, Black Flame Tornado is great for twin blades, spears and halberds, while Sword Dance is a skill that is useful in almost any circumstance. If you don't know which one to choose take a look at our guide to the best War Ashes of Elden Ring.

As usual we have tried to limit spoilers as much as possible, but inevitably we will have to talk about advanced places, bosses o NPC.

Uchigatana

Elden Ring, the position of Uchigatana

Requirements: 11 in Strength and 15 in Dexterity Initial Scaling: D in Strength and D in Dexterity Scaling + 25: D in Strength and C in Dexterity (E in Strength and A in Dexterity in incisive version)

Let's start with the Uchigatana, a balanced weapon with excellent Dexterity scaling and attacks that inflict slashing and piercing damage, as well as bleeding status like other Elden Ring katanas. It is simple to use and has no particular weaknesses, proving to be an extremely viable option for practically any adventure. It can also be obtained within minutes of starting the game, making it perfect as a starter weapon for your Dexterity build, possibly to be replaced with another tool of death in the process.

You can get the Uchigatana in the "Catacombs of Death", an optional mini-dungeon located in Sepolcride between the places of grace "Master Warrior's Hut" and "Sacroponte" (you need the Torrent jump to reach it), refer to the map above to find it. This is a dangerous area if you are just starting the game, but doable with a little precaution. In this dungeon you will have to deal with skeletal enemies, not particularly dangerous if faced one at a time, but deadly in a group due to their peculiarity: they come back to life a few seconds after death. To eliminate them permanently what you have to do, in the absence of other means, is simply to attack them while they are regenerating.

Long Fang

Elden Ring, this is where you will receive the Long Fang

Requirements: 18 in Strength and 22 in Dexterity Initial Scaling: D in Strength and C in Dexterity Scaling + 25: D in Strength and B in Dexterity (E in Strength and A in Dexterity in the incisive version)

Remaining on the subject of katanas, the Long Fang is an option as valid as the Uchigatana, but it is characterized by a longer blade and therefore a much greater range, a strength absolutely not to be overlooked, at the price of attacks loaded a a little slower.

The Long Fang is the weapon of NPC Yura, whom you will encounter at Sepulcris southwest of Lake Agheel, near the "Maritime Ruins" place of grace. You have two options to get this weapon: kill this character without scruples or complete his quest. In the second case, Yura will donate his Katana to the Second Church of Marika, in the Altus Plateau, at the point indicated in the map above.

Hand of Malenia

Elden Ring, the location by Elphael, where you will face Malenia

Requirements: 16 in Strength and 48 in Dexterity Initial Scaling: E in Strength and C in Dexterity Scaling + 10: E in Strength and B in Dexterity

We conclude the overview of the Elden Ring katanas with the Hand of Malenia, the weapon used by the homonymous character. Obtaining it is not easy but undoubtedly it is one of the strongest Dexterity weapons of Elden Ring, not so much for the statistics (however excellent) but above all for its unique ability, the Water Dance, or the characteristic move of Malenia which consists of a series of powerful slashes in rapid succession as the Lightless floats in midair.

You can obtain the Hand of Malenia by offering the Remembrance of Malenia to Enia in the Rocca della Tavola Rotonda. You can face this fearsome boss in Elphael, a secret Legacy Dungeon in Elden Ring. It is located at the far north of the map and can be reached from "Order, the liturgical city" located north of the lands of the sacred Miquella Tree. Here you can unlock a portal that leads to Elphael by solving a puzzle that requires you to light four candles in the "eternal jail" located in the area. In turn, the Lands of the Sacred Tree Miquella is an optional secret region located west of the Giant Peaks accessible from the Great Hoist of Rold using the Secret Pendant of the Sacred Tree. This medallion consists of two parts, one you can find in Castel Sol (north of the Giants' Peaks) and the other in the Albinauri Village (south of the Liurnia region) interacting with an NPC disguised as a vase.

Fang of the Limiere

Elden Ring, the position of the Fang of the Limiere

Requirements: 18 in Strength and 17 in Dexterity Initial Scaling: D in Strength and C in Dexterity Scaling + 10: C in Strength and B in Dexterity

The Fang of the Limiere is a curved broadsword characterized by high offensive potential, a very valid and scenographic special ability, a good range and the possibility of inflicting bleeding, just not to make us miss anything. Given the scaling and requirements in Forza it is actually a weapon designed more for a Quality build, but it is strong enough to be among the best even for characters focused more on Dexterity. The unique Skill Dexterity of the Limiere consists of a backward dodge slash followed by a dash forward and a powerful blow that deals good damage to both the health and posture of enemies.

You can get the Fang of the Limiere at Sepolcride, in the early stages of Elden Ring. To be precise, you will receive it as a prize by defeating the Limiere Knight Darriwil in the Eternal Galley located south of Sepulcride, at the point indicated in the map above.

Urumi

Elden Ring, the location of the Urumi

Requirements: 10 in Strength and 19 in Dexterity Initial Scaling: E in Strength and 19 in Dexterity Scaling + 25: E in Strength and B in Dexterity (E in Strength and S in Dexterity in the incisive version)

In this list of the best weapons for builds focused on Dexterity of Elden Ring could not miss the Urumi, a whip with the features of a sword (or vice versa) that achieves an inviting scaling S in Dexterity with incisive infusion, but which is also a great option for build quality (with B scaling in Strength and Dexterity). This weapon performs attacks with a good range and also quite fast. Particularly interesting is the heavy blow, which ends with a powerful thrust that hits from a great distance.

You can get Urumi in the Cariano Manor, north of the Liurnia region. Starting from the place of grace "upper floor of the manor" in the east area of the mansion, go down with the freight elevator nearby and advance until you have to cross a stone bridge that is in front of a tower. What you need to do now is drop to the left of the bridge to land on the walkway below. Then turn right and advance, you will find the weapon on a corpse.

Crossed Naginata

Elden Ring, the location of the Crossed Naginata

Requirements: 16 Strength e 20 in Dexterity Initial Scaling: D in Strength and C in Dexterity Scaling + 25: D in Strength and B in Dexterity (E in Strength and A in Dexterity in the incisive version)

The crossed Naginata is classified by the game like a spear, although in some ways its moveset is more reminiscent of a halberd, since it includes both slashes and thrusts. The strengths of this weapon are the range and variety of its attacks, bleeding damage, and excellent Dexterity scaling, making it a viable option on virtually any occasion.

You can get the Naginata crossed inside the Gael Gallery, a mini-dungeon located in the Caelid region, refer to the map above. The weapon is in a room with a giant earth octopus and its cubs inside.

Butcher's Knife

Elden Ring, the location of the Butcher's Knife

Requirements: 16 in Strength and 20 in Dexterity Initial Scaling: E in Strength and C in Dexterity Scaling + 25: E in Strength and B in Dexterity (E in Strength and A in Dexterity in the incisive version)

The Butcher's Knife might look like a Strength build weapon at first, yet this massive cleaver has great Dexterity scaling (A in the punchy version) making it a viable option for Strength builds. Obviously given the generous dimensions, the moveset is certainly slower than the other weapons we have talked about so far, but compensated by the power of the attacks and the secondary effect, which restores a small amount of life points with each hit. We are talking about 1% of the total, but it is an appreciable bonus, especially if you use the Ritual Sword accessory that increases the attack when the HP is at the maximum, in our opinion one of the best talismans of Elden Ring.

You will receive the Butcher's Knife as a reward for defeating the invading NPC Anastasia near the Decomposition Shack, on the road to Mt. Gelmir, refer to the map above.

Flayer from Sacrederm

Elden Ring, the location of the Flayer Sacrederm

Requirements: 17 in Strength and 22 in Dexterity Initial Scaling: E in Strength and C in Dexterity Scaling + 25: E in Strength and B in Dexterity ( E in Strength and A in Dexterity in the incisive version)

The Flayer from Sacriderma (a name that says a whole program) is a particularly valid twin blade when held with two hands, with a moveset characterized by a series of rapid slashing. The base ability is Black Flame Tornado, an extremely powerful spin attack, but you can change it at any time via War Ashes, which makes this tool of death quite versatile too.

You can get the Flayer from Sacrum just north of "Dominula, village of the mill", in the Altus Plateau, by defeating the optional boss Sacredmother Apostle.

Rockblade of the Dragon King

Elden Ring, the stance of the Rockblade of the Dragon King

Requirements: 18 in Strength and 37 in Dexterity Initial Scaling: E in Strength and D in Dexterity Scaling + 10: D in Strength and B in Dexterity

The Rocky Blade of the Dragon King is a very good heavy lunge weapon, which combines considerable range, relatively fast attacks and massive damage, in short, an all-round instrument of death. This heavy rapier deals both physical and electrical damage, and its special move, Cloud Shape, is a forward charge followed by an extremely powerful thrust, all accompanied by beautiful animation to look at, which never hurts. br>
You can obtain the Rocky Blade of the Dragon King by offering the remembrance of the dragon lord Placidusax. You will face this optional boss in Farum Azula in Shattered, an area that you must visit in the final stages of Elden Ring. Starting from the place of grace "granponte", instead of continuing towards the bridge, go back and take the elevator to go down. Go past the beasts of Farum and exit outside the chapel and head to the ledge with some trees. Drop down to the ledge below and continue on the path made of floating rocks until you find yourself in front of a giant tornado. At this point you will have to use the "Lie down" command that will appear on the screen to start the fight with the boss.
