Xbox: Everything on Spencer's shelf seems to have meaning

Xbox

Phil Spencer is undoubtedly one of the most influential personalities in the video game industry. Over the months, players have learned to pay attention to every detail present during Spencer's live streams, especially after he himself revealed that he had an Xbox Series S in full view long before its official announcement. Precisely for this reason, users have begun to observe the objects behind him more during the live shows, in order to find some clues about the upcoming Xbox-themed news.

Phil Spencer recently added some to his collection very special objects, carefully placed on the shelves behind him. We are talking about a statue of Ludens, the mascot of Kojima Productions, and a Nintendo Switch that have little or nothing to do with Xbox. For this reason, gamers have begun to speculate about the recent addition of these two items that could be, according to some, crucial clues to the future of Xbox.

Jeff Grubb, a well-known VentureBeat insider, recently reported in the last episode of his podcast that there is a much more articulated sense about the choice, by Phil Spencer, to insert these objects behind him. The insider claims, at 59:40, that he heard that every object on Spencer's shelf has a specific meaning, including the Ludens statue and the Nintendo Switch. Starting from this premise we can also just imagine what the news will be coming for Xbox players.

Many believe that this detail is in fact a small confirmation regarding the possibility of seeing the next work of Hideo Kojima exclusively on Xbox. Similarly, the presence of a Nintendo Switch could suggest the arrival of other Xbox Game Studios titles on it or perhaps the possibility of playing in the cloud with Xbox Game Pass. In any case, knowing Phil Spencer's personality, we can be sure that we will find out what is the meaning (if indeed there is one) of the presence of those objects on his shelf shortly.

Unfortunately there is well little that we can take for sure, as there is no official confirmation yet, but we do not doubt that Microsoft is working hard to improve the entire ecosystem of the Xbox more and more. What do you think of this matter? Do you really believe that Phil Spencer is implicitly indicating that news regarding Kojima Productions and Nintendo Switch are coming or the presence of those objects is just random?
