Buy Xbox Series X: Dealer raises price - also for PS5?

Buy Xbox Series X

Buying the PS5 is currently a feat, after all, it is virtually continuously sold out at all retailers. This also applies to the Xbox Series X. But you could always rely on at least one thing: the price. The non-binding price of the next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft is 499 euros each, or 399 euros for the purely digital PS5.

That could change now, at least if the behavior of the electronics retailer Expert has its way. The Xbox Series X was recently available again in his online shop. Instead of the usual 499 euros, the dealer suddenly asked for 599 euros, a whopping 100 euros more.

Out for Japan Studio: Sony closes studio, fires employees

Sony has announced the end of Japan Studio. The team was known for Knack, Ape Escape and Gravity Rush, among others. var lstExcludedArticleTicker = '1367817,1367184,1367712,1367695'; This is still significantly less than what scalpers and resellers are asking, who buy PS5 (buy now) and Xbox Series X using bots and then resell them on Ebay and Co., but still a significant increase.

Legally, there is nothing wrong with this increase, the recommended retail price of 499 euros is just that - a recommendation to retailers. Morally, of course, things look different.

At least the success proves Expert right: The Xbox Series X was sold out again by 100 euros more within minutes. It remains to be seen whether this action was an isolated case or whether Expert will continue to follow this path in the future. In this case it can be assumed that the same action will be taken in the case of the PS5.

It is also exciting to see how other retailers will react to the price increase at Expert? Will Media Markt, Saturn and Co. follow suit, or will 499 euros remain the standard? No matter how the story develops, of course you read it with us. And finally, we list a few retailers that you should keep an eye on if you want to get hold of a PS5 or an Xbox Series X - hopefully at the normal price. At least at the moment, the price for future deliveries is given as 499 euros. Practical in this context: A bot that shows as soon as one of the consoles is available.

The Xbox Series X is still not widely available but gamers can still get their hands on the Xbox Series S from numerous retailers.

Since being released in November, the Microsoft console has not been easy to purchase, as Xbox fans have had to deal with limited stock and scalpers. As a result, the consoles are only released sporadically and often with very limited stock. However, at the time of writing, the digital edition is available to purchase.
