Call of Duty Blackout: Discontinued Battle Royale map exposed

Call of Duty Blackout

A Call of Duty development team seems to have been working on a new battle royale map for Blackout, but it appears to have been discontinued before completion. Now a picture of the map is circulating on Twitter, which was obviously created in the Call of Duty: Blackout engine. The map is a compilation of well-known and unpublished playing cards of the Fireteam mode of the shooter. Below we have included the tweet for you.

According to a VGC reporter, Activision was planning to launch Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War as a sequel to Blackout, which co-appeared with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 in 2018. However, because Warzone was able to celebrate extraordinary success, the publisher decided to continue integrating the Battle Royale shooter. It remains unclear whether the map will ever see the light of day.

Activision's focus in the battle royale area is still on Warzone. Also here a leak made the rounds at the beginning of the month, which probably showed the new map update. On April 22, 2021, Verdansk is to be equipped with brand new locations that convey the feeling of the 80s. There is no confirmation yet, but the publisher has already fought vehemently against the spread of the leak on the Internet. A journalist was even banned from Twitter for a short time because he reported on the leaks that had surfaced.

An alleged leak of a canceled map for Call of Duty: Blackout has fans speculating about what it could mean for the future of Call of Duty: Warzone.

The image was posted on Twitter earlier today and has been circulating ever since, with many speculating that the map or a version of it could be coming to Warzone soon.

The map features a number of different landscape biomes and points of interest, including places called Duga, Mines, Chemical Labs, Battery, Zoo, Sanatorium, Ski Slopes, and Weather Station.

For weeks, Activision has been teasing a catastrophic event in the current Warzone map, Verdansk, involving zombies. With season two scheduled to end in a couple of weeks, we could see a new battle royale map.

Blackout was the battle royale mode in 2018’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, but it was only available in the game itself so it didn’t gain nearly as much popularity as the free-to-play Warzone.

The Ural Mountains map has been rumored for Warzone for some time as part of its Black Ops Cold War integration, but this particular map could have been scrapped entirely if it was meant to be a Blackout sequel. It could also have been repurposed for Warzone, too, but that’s all speculation at this point.

If the above tweet disappears, it’s likely due to DMCA takedown notice from Activision, which would lend credence to its authenticity. But for now, it’s just a rumor.
