The mythology of the Tesseract expands, turning a lake into a portal and leading Kahhori, a young Mohawk woman , on a quest to discover her candies. Reports have surfaced of a Native American hero who What If..? after some images of Funko Soda appeared online. Thus, many fans started speculating about the real identity of this new character.Ryan Little wrote the episode that introduces Kahhori. Marvel worked closely with members of the Mohawk Nation, such as historian Doug George and Mohawk language expert Cecelia King, to ensure the episode was culturally authentic, as far as portraying the Native American experience. Indeed, the episode incorporates the Mohawk language and takes place in the Akwesasne region, located in the current state of New York.
George spoke about working on the project and his enthusiasm for its authentic approach to Mohawk history.
It tells an amazing story from the native Mohawk perspective that is very unique and historic, and will offer viewers a new, challenging and entertaining perspective on the first people of this land. The story is dramatic, the characters fully realized, and the action sequences are breathtaking. The episode is exceptional in another sense: it is made with the complete cooperation of the Mohawk people, from the dialogue to the ornaments.
