PlayStation preparing the return of an old project?

At PlayStation, we would be thinking of a return of a project belonging to the PS3 era. At least this is what emerges from the renewal of an old project, launched two generations ago. We are talking about Home, a sort of social network for consoles that did not have happy years in the course of its existence, partly due to the lack of public and partly probably to be definitely an idea ahead of its time. br>
PlayStation For those who don't know what we're talking about, PlayStation Home was a sort of social community, a bit like Facebook and Instagram. A space dedicated to all players, who could have bought a house, entertained themselves with various activities such as bowling, an arcade, a shopping center and much more. All obviously combined with 3D graphics, with avatars able to move in a 3D environment. A sort of exclusive Second Life for the Sony console of the 2006-2013 era, which unfortunately did not have a great hold on the public, so much so that Sony definitively closed the space on March 31, 2015 but the renewal of the trademark, which took place on April 23 2021, could just pave the way for a return to the ambitious project.

There are several reasons why PlayStation Home could return. First of all the diffusion of VR viewers (with a new version of PSVR in the pipeline), which would make the user experience completely different and then the customs clearance of social networks based mainly on videos and photos and no longer on discussions real. Just think of the success (indeed, explosion) of Tik Tok in the last two years, which allows you to create only video content.

As usual, we invite you to take this news with a grain of salt. In fact, a possible new version of PlayStation Home is still uncertain, so our advice is to wait for announcements or official communications from Sony, which we will report to you if they will be available in the near future.
