Outriders: Griefer kick players before they get their loot

Outriders: Griefer kick players before they get their loot

Outriders

Players in the loot shooter Outriders are currently struggling with people who ensure that they do not receive their loot in the endgame. This annoys the community.

Outriders has a grief problem

Griefer are players who enjoy spoiling the fun of others. There are many forms of griefers. In some online games, these people attack newcomers over and over again. In Outriders (buy now € 59.99) they deprive others of their prey. In the endgame of the new loot shooter, players face tough challenges, the expeditions. However, they only receive the rewards and the loot at the end and not during the mission. Griefer have now made use of this principle.

Before an Outriders fan gets his chest to pick up his prey, the trolls kick it out of the game. This prevents them from getting their prey. Player trickmalpas explains: "Imagine you join a lobby, finish CT 15 gold and just before you can complete it, you get kicked."

A video shows what the problem looks like in the game:

Trickmalpas is not the only one suffering from this problem, however. On Reddit, reports are piling up from fans being cheated of their rewards. Says Redditor TxDieselKid, "It's 2021 and people are still getting kicked before loot drops? How can that be a thing at all? I really don't understand why anyone would do this. How can people enjoy something like this? People can have to fly really tackle this as soon as possible. Maybe a 20 second timer once the mission is complete to prevent the kicking out of the game? "

The developers at Outiders have not yet reported the problem .

‘Outriders’ Nerfing Golem, But Also Snipers And Knockback Enemies

Outriders

People Can Fly

While Outriders is mostly focusing on bug fixes, crashes and connection issues for now, there’s news yesterday that some more nerfs are coming, some to the player, some to enemies, at last.

The first item here is…somewhat controversial. Outriders community managers have revealed that Golem is being nerfed. Not the Devastator skill, but the use of Golem through Emergency Stance, the mod that gives you a protective Golem effect when your health drops. There’s currently a bug to make this permanent, so you can get essentially 65% damage reduction for an entire expedition just by getting it to activate early on.

While yes, this is a bug, and Golem probably shouldn’t be active permanently, players are annoyed that yet another thing that benefits the player is being nerfed while other things need to be buffed or enemies need to be nerfed (more on that in a second). Particularly, damage is wildly inconsistent and overbearing in higher tier expeditions, and nothing seems to be getting done about that. A lot of people were using this Golem bug because they were getting 1 and 2 shot unavoidably without it.

Outriders

People Can Fly

Well, enemies are getting nerfed, to some extent, which People Can Fly previewed yesterday. We don’t know the exact nature of the nerfs, but it’s been said that both Snipers (with insane accuracy) are getting nerfed in some way, and also “difficulty dealing with excessive knockback from creatures in the Stargrave expedition.” I’m not quite sure what that means, as enemy creatures in the Stargrave expedition are also into other expeditions and the “extreme knockback” and stunlock from enemies like Alphas is a problem everywhere. So hopefully they’re being looked at in general.

We still don’t have a date on this patch, which may also include inventory restoration and other balance issues besides the ones we know about already. You would think it would be next week, but that’s what we said last week, so who knows. Generally speaking, Outriders has been moving pretty fast with adjustments and fixes, but players are not amused that builds keep being nerfed in the name of bug-squashing without dealing with the more problematic power problems on the enemy side. That may be starting to change as of this next patch, but it’s a long road to achieve true balance, most likely. In short, my philosophy is to always err on the side of the player. Especially in a game like this where it’s like…who cares if the player is too powerful or farms too fast? You’re not trying to sell them microtansactions or season passes or anything, so why does it matter?

Anyway, we’ll see what this next patch does in full soon.
