Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness - Plot Announced

Resident Evil

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness takes place a few years after the events of Resident Evil 4. The series revolves around Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, who play a major role in the Resident Evil universe. Nick Apostolides as Leon and Stephanie Panisello as Claire serve as voice actors for the two characters, who have already lent their voices for the Resident Evil 2 remake. The new series will not reenact a story from a game or film in the franchise, but rather have its own story around the two popular characters.

Shortly after his arrival, however, the lights go out and the White House is attacked by a horde of zombies. Meanwhile, Claire Redfield finds a mysterious drawing of a child through her work at TerraSave. When she visits the White House to get a permit to build a charity, she meets Leon. He suspects a connection between the image of the child and the zombie attack, but tells Claire nothing about it.

So Leon and Claire will meet again by chance in Infinite Darkness. There is currently no exact start date for the series, but it should be broadcast exclusively on Netflix in 2021 on the 25th anniversary of the franchise.

Resident Evil fans can not only look forward to Infinite Darkness this year, but also to a live action adaptation about Claire and Chris Redfield and Resident Evil Village.

'Resident Evil': Netflix unveils poster, voice cast for anime series

March 12 (UPI) -- Netflix is sharing more details about the new anime series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness.

On Thursday, the streaming service unveiled a poster and the voice cast for the upcoming animated series.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is based on Capcom's Resident Evil video game series, which was previously adapted as a live-action film series starring Milla Jovovich.

The poster for Infinite Darkness depicts familiar characters Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy, along with zombies on the front lawn of the White House.

Stephanie Panisello and Nick Apostolides, who voiced Claire and Leon in the Resident Evil 2: Remake video game, will reprise the characters in the Netflix show.

'Even in darkness, a familiar voice can make all the difference,' Netflix captioned the post on Twitter.

Infinite Darkness will see Claire and Leon reunite at the White House amid mysterious zombie outbreaks in two countries.

'In time, these two zombie outbreaks in distant countries lead to events that shake the nation to its very core,' an official synopsis reads.

Netflix is also developing a live-action Resident Evil series that will feature dual timelines and center on sisters Jade and Billie Wesker.

In addition, a live-action reboot starring Kaya Scodelario and Robbie Amell is in the works at Constantin Film. Capcom will release Resident Evil Village, a new video game in the franchise, in May.
