Late yesterday afternoon, Peter Safran and James Gunn introduced a first installment of DC Studios' current plans, while also hinting at the future of Ezra Miller, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ben Affleck, and Henry Cavill. The basic idea is to start from scratch, to start building the so-called DCU again, without looking at the mistakes made in the past. A question, however, arises spontaneously, what will become of the symbolic actors of the DCEU?

Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller: what is their future in the DCU?

Talking about Ezra Miller's DC future, before Gadot and Momoa , based as recently reported by Variety , it seems that Peter Safran and James Gunn are intending not to eliminate it completely , pending its recovery . This was by no means an easy period for the actor, after the theft allegations in court, at the moment we find him in full recovery, also confirmed by the words of Safran himself:

Ezra is committed to his recovery and we fully support the journey he is on right now. When it's over, and he feels ready to discuss the situation, we'll do it to figure out the best path forward. In our conversations with him over the last couple of months he seems to be making tremendous progress.

As for the future of Jason Momoa and his Aquaman (If you are interested in catching up on his film, you can find them on Amazon), Peter Safran recently talked about it together with Deadline, stating that in the future DC there will certainly be room for the actor: “Jason has always seen Aquaman as a trilogy” .

While opening up new possibilities for the future, however, Gunn immediately debunked speculation that the actor could also play the role of Lobo. Even Momoa himself recently clarified the situation of him, via DigitalSpy, following a meeting with the two current co-CEOs of DC Studios saying that:

We have a special relationship… I wish I could say more. I will always be Aquaman and there is a lot of evolution in that sense. So I'm not going anywhere, and it's very exciting.

Gal Gadot's future, however, remains quite uncertain and suspended. During the meeting James Gunn confirmed, via Comicbook, he could still return as Wonder Woman. When asked if they were currently in talks with the previous players he replied:

With some. We do not know. We talked to Gal. She is ready to do stuff. We're not sure what we're going to do with it. All I can tell you right now is that Henry [Cavill] and Ben [Affleck] are not part of this universe.

Such a statement, therefore, opens up possibilities for the actress by completely excluding Cavill and Affleck. On this specific topic James Gunn was questioned by Deadline , answering that:

We did not fire Henry. Henry was never cast. He was in a cameo, and that was the end of his story about him. A lot of people made assumptions that weren't true, for me it's just about who I want to cast as Superman and who the filmmakers want.

For Gunn, Cavill is simply not cut out for the role they are building in Superman Legacy :

In my view, for this story, there is no Henry. I like him. He's a good guy. I think he's been made fun of by a lot of people, including the former heads of this company. But this Superman isn't Henry for a variety of reasons.

In all of this Ben Affleck will appear in the new Flash film, but his future in DC will see him sit in the director's chair. Gunn and Safran have repeatedly confirmed this choice of actor, revealing that they are still enthusiastic about it.
