OnePlus 10 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S22 +: challenge between change and tradition

OnePlus 10 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S22 +

OnePlus 10 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S22 + are concentrates of technology, they contain the best (or almost) that innovation in the field of mobile telephony has created.

The Chinese brand has grown up thanks to the construction of its community, which has made known - even with online word of mouth - the quality of its products. The Korean brand, on the other hand, has existed before the creation of Android itself and was one of the first to believe in it and to support it.

Let's analyze what these recent top of the range of the respective companies are able to do, each with its own distinctive features.

Familiarity or particularity?

OnePlus 10 The Pro and Galaxy S22 + also stand out at first glance. The first has a more particular aspect while the second follows the path of familiarity, the one it gained with the previous generation.

From the dimensional point of view, the measures are more or less similar, with a note of merit to Samsung which concerned itself with making a more "restricted" Galaxy S22 + compared to last year's Galaxy S21 +.

In the front stands the curved display at the ends for OnePlus 10 Pro. The front camera has been positioned in the upper left corner. For Galaxy S22 + the display is flat and the front camera is at the top centered. Gorilla Glass Victus has been chosen for both, although Samsung uses a revised and slightly improved version (Gorilla Glass Victus Plus) which it owns in momentary exclusivity.

In the rear, the differences are even more marked with a brand new design for OnePlus 10 Pro which has a band that starts embracing the side frame and reaches more than half of the back. It is used to house three cameras. Galaxy S22 +, on the other hand, has a vertical layout design that, even here, embraces the side frame even if in a more contained way than the Chinese smartphone. Glass back for both and aluminum side frame with the presence of the iconic OnePlus selector that further helps your product to gain a personal distinctive trait.

Different cameras, not only in appearance

The multimedia compartment of both is made using three sensors. It is clear that each manufacturer puts his own, in fact particular attention has been paid to the software that gives that extra touch to make them different once the app to take a photo is opened.

OnePlus 10 Pro has a 48MP main sensor, a 150-degree wide-angle camera with 50MP resolution and an 8MP telephoto lens.

Galaxy S22 + doesn't go very far in terms of sensors, with resolutions that change positively compared to the previous generation . In fact, we have 50MP + 12MP + 10MP, respectively standard, wide-angle and telephoto.

At the front the camera is single 32 MP for the Chinese smartphone and 10MP for the Korean one.

Snapdragon vs Exynos, the challenge continues

OnePlus 10 Pro has been designed to rely on the power of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 produced for Qualcomm by Samsung itself with a 4nm production process. Same nanometers but different SoC model for Galaxy S22 + which owns an Exynos 2200. The architecture and frequencies of the various cores are the same, what changes is how the respective companies have engineered it by applying their know-how.

The batteries are 5000mAh and 4500mAh, the latter for the model made by Samsung . The OnePlus was designed to support wired charging that can reach 80W while the S22 + stops at 45W. Wireless charging, even reverse, enabled for both.

OxygenOS aims for immediacy, One UI for completeness

OnePlus has been renowned for years for favoring fast and responsive, which does not skimp on extensive customization. Samsung is more conservative with software that is complete, but which also and above all embraces the ecosystem. This is to give users a sense of continuity between all the interconnected products made by the company.

In any case, we are talking about two absolute flagships, made with the latest technologies available. This means immediate use performance, without waiting and lag in its entirety. In terms of performance they are second to none.

Samsung's latest software interaction, the One UI 4, is capable of providing a complete experience which, as already expressed, pays particular attention to accessories and integrated ecosystem.

OxygenOS 12 is lean and fast, forged by the stock Android experience and gradually becoming more and more appreciated by users and the community.
