Steam Deck: A steampunk version appears pending launch

Steam Deck

We're almost there, players who have managed to pre-order Steam Deck will receive Valve's new hardware at home these days. After a series of postponements, we are approaching launch time, and it is likely that in a while the web will be filled with first impressions. To commit the wait, there are those who wanted to create a three-dimensional model of the hardware with a very unique and personal touch, showing us what Steam Deck in the steampunk version would be like.

This is of the work created by Tomek Dittrich, who published a short video in which we can see, from various angles, what a completely steampunk version of Steam Deck would look like. The model was created using the Blender software, and does not limit itself to reproducing only the shell with woody materials and various steampunk inserts, but also the graphics on the screen reproduce the style chosen by the author.

if (jQuery ("# crm_srl-th_gamedivision_d_mh2_1"). is (": visible")) {console.log ("Edinet ADV adding zone: tag crm_srl-th_gamedivision_d_mh2_1 slot id: th_gamedivision_d_mh2"); } The quality and detail level is impressive, and you can see from the various shots how all the pieces are in place. The volume dial is replaced by a gear, as the various keys and analog sticks appear to have been made with pieces of metal of various sizes. Furthermore we can also see the dashboard, which is seen completely in black and white.

Waiting for #SteamDeck? What will you say for some more #steampunk -ish version? # 3dart made in @Blender.

Klei fixes up Don't Starve Together for Steam Deck support

Klei Entertainment are another developer working to ensure their games work well on the Steam Deck, with an update now available for Don't Starve Together.

Currently, as of when it was last tested (SteamDB), Don't Starve Together was very close to being fully Deck Verified. However, it seems there were issues with needing to manually bring up the on-screen keyboard. Hopefully then, Klei has fixed that up which would mean it would go from Playable to Verified.

The update released recently includes:

  • Added Steam Deck support
  • Koalefant Trunk Steak’s name and icon now shows up correctly in the cookbook ingredient lists
  • Fixed a bug preventing Crabking and Dragonfly from spawning after their world settings are changed from none to something else.
  • Fixed a crash when ramming burnt Above Average Tree Trunks.
  • Fixed a rare Kitcoon crash
  • Fixed a crash with the world presets
  • Do you think Don't Starve Together is something you will play on the Steam Deck? It's constantly in the top 50 most played games on Steam, so it's not really a big surprise to see it get updated. It usually sees over 30,000 people playing it each day (concurrent users).
