All other regions retain the color of March 15. Therefore Lombardy, Piedmont, the Autonomous Province of Trento, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Lazio, Puglia and Campania are red. While Abruzzo, Basilicata, Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Tuscany, Umbria are in the orange zone. Calabria, Liguria, Sicily, Valle d'Aosta would be yellow, but due to the decree of 12 March, they must comply with the same measures as the orange areas (which is why you see them colored orange on our map).

The provisions envisaged by the government remain in force which will bring the entire regional territory into the red zone, except the white zones, from 3 to 5 April. Therefore, restaurants and shops will be closed to the public and movements will be limited. However, visits to relatives and friends will be allowed, limited to two people, once a day and exclusively within the municipal territory.

Furthermore, at least until April 6, all regions that will report a number of weekly infections greater than 250 out of 100 thousand inhabitants will automatically enter the red zone. Also in this period, the presidents of the regions and autonomous provinces will be able to establish additional red zones or local lockdowns, in areas particularly exposed to the new variants and in the provinces where infections exceed 250 people out of 100 thousand inhabitants. The ban on movement between regions also continues, at least until April 6.

Rules for red zones

Any movement in and out of and within the same Municipalities is prohibited, except for work needs or situations of necessity. Return to home, home or residence is allowed. Transit through the territories in the red zone is allowed to reach areas that are not subject to travel restrictions or in case of need.

Didactic activities are carried out exclusively at a distance. There remains the possibility of carrying out some activities in presence if it is necessary to use laboratories or for pupils with disabilities and special educational needs.

Physical activity is allowed individually, only near the home and respecting the distance of at least one meter from any other person, with the obligation to use masks.

Museums, exhibitions and other institutes or places of culture are closed with the exception of libraries, whose services are offered by reservation. All shows open to the public in theaters, concert halls, cinemas and other venues or spaces, even outdoors, are suspended.

All commercial activities are also closed, including barbers, beauticians and hairdressers, except food and basic necessities shops. Access is limited to only one member per family. The markets remain open only for the sale of food, agricultural and nursery products. Newsagents, tobacconists, pharmacies and parapharmacies can keep them open.

Catering services are suspended (including bars, pubs, restaurants, ice cream parlors, pastry shops), with the exception of canteens and catering. It remains permitted, without time limits, the catering in hotels and other accommodation facilities limited to its guests. The take-away of food and drinks is allowed until 10 pm, while home delivery is always allowed.

Rules for the orange zones

All movements in and out are prohibited from these areas, but the return to the domicile, home or residence is allowed. You can leave your municipality only in case of need or to carry out activities or use services that are suspended or not present in your municipality. Within the municipalities it is allowed to move, once a day, to a single private home, between 5 and 22, limited to two people and children under the age of fourteen. Transfers from municipalities with a population not exceeding 5 thousand inhabitants and for a distance not exceeding 30 kilometers are allowed, with the exception of provincial capitals.

High schools guarantee face-to-face teaching from 50% up to a maximum 75% of the total student population. While the activity of kindergartens, elementary and middle schools takes place in the presence. Regional presidents will be able to close schools in three cases: in areas where more stringent measures are in place due to the seriousness of the variations; in areas where there are more than 250 infections per 100 thousand inhabitants over seven days; in the case of an exceptional situation of worsening of the epidemiological picture.

Physical activity is allowed only within one's own municipality, in individual form. Exhibitions, museums and other places of culture follow the same rules as for the red zone. All shops are open, including shopping centers, but they are closed on weekends and public holidays. For bars and restaurants the same rules apply as for the red zone.

Rules for the yellow zones

Until 6 April in the yellow zones, as required by law, the measures apply foreseen in the orange zones.



Special provisions for Easter

From 3 to 5 April, throughout the national territory, with the exception of Sardinia so far, which for now is in the white zone, the restrictions in the red zone will apply. Bars and restaurants will therefore be closed to the public, while shops other than food shops will be completely closed. However, in the areas affected by the restrictions, it will be possible to visit relatives and friends, once a day, moving throughout the region.
