Oppo Reno8 Pro: light up the night with MariSilicon X!

Oppo Reno8 Pro

For the launch of the Reno8 series, Oppo has chosen the city of Paris, also known as the Ville Lumière or the city of lights. It is no coincidence that the motto used by the brand in the Reno8 Pro advertising material is "Champion even in the night" with obvious reference to the smartphone's ability to capture a large amount of light with its cameras even after sunset.

And it is thanks to the two flagship cameras and the exclusive MariSilicon X chip dedicated to image processing that this smartphone is able to reach (and in some cases even exceed) the photographic quality of more expensive high-end devices .

The Oppo Reno8 Pro is equipped with a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera. It is a well-known sensor in the panorama of Android smartphones and has already been tested and optimized by Oppo on several occasions. It is the same top-of-the-range component that the brand used for the excellent cameras of the Oppo Find X3 Pro, first, and Oppo Find X5 Pro, later.

This Sony sensor has a size of 1/1, 56 ″, very large for a smartphone, with pixels whose side is 1µm long. This guarantees, together with the lenses with a large f / 1.8 aperture, the entry of a greater quantity of light, which thus allows you to capture sharper and less noisy images.

The focus is extremely fast thanks to the presence of omnidirectional phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and on every single pixel. The wide dynamic range is obtained by exploiting the integrated DOL-HDR technology in combination with the image processing algorithms made by Oppo.

And speaking of processing algorithms, Oppo has another ace up its sleeve to pull out to squeeze the best possible results from the image sensor. Reno8 Pro is the second smartphone ever, before it only the top of the range Find X5 Pro, to mount a second chip called MariSilicon X coupled to the powerful processor.

MariSilicon X is positioned halfway between cameras and MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max chip to improve photographic and video recording performance. The Oppo chip is made with a 6nm lithographic technology that allows for excellent energy efficiency (11.6 TOPS / W) while at the same time does not have to give up computing power. MariSilicon X is capable of unleashing 18 TOPS, or 18 trillion operations per second.

But what is this coprocessor useful for on the practical side? It allows for the real-time processing of an incredible amount of data, which makes it possible to record video in 4K Ultra Night mode, to literally light up the night, and in 4K Ultra HDR, for true-to-life colors while recording with a dynamic range superior.

An 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a sensor dedicated to 2MP macro shots complete the photographic sector.

Reno8 Pro surpasses the competition by continuing the tradition of the series with a camera dedicated to selfies of the highest quality. Not only does the front camera mount a 32MP Sony IMX709, sensor equipped with an RGBW matrix to capture 60% more light, but it has a 5-element wide-angle lens with auto focus.

Thanks to the 'elegant Oppo smartphone you can say goodbye to dark or unclear selfies: Reno8 Pro is able to create clear, bright images even from its front camera, and above all with a low noise level and an extreme dynamic range.

And don't think all this power and capable cameras can bring autonomy to its knees. Oppo Reno8 Pro has a 4500mAh battery which, combined with the powerful but equally efficient processor, allows you to easily get to the end of the day. In case of need, the 80W SuperVOOC recharge will take care of it, the same as the flagship model of the brand, which can bring the percentage of charge from 1% to 45% in 10 minutes, while from 1% to 100% in just 31 minutes!

All in an extremely slim design body, only 7.34mm, elegant, made of metal and one-piece curved glass, and light, 183 grams in weight. On the front, the brilliant and vividly colored 6.7 ″ AMOLED display can reach 120Hz of maximum frequency and 950 nits of peak brightness!

Oppo Reno8 Pro is available at the official price € 799.99 at major online and physical retailers; however, the launch promotion on Oppo Store Italy is very interesting.
