Among the many activities present during the days of Lucca Comics and Games 2022 there is also a project that explores the connections between comics and food and wine: Foodmetti Artisti delle Tavole. Let's find out what it is!

Everything has been made possible thanks to the involvement of personalities who are friends of the creators such as C.B. Cebulski, editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics and passionate about cooking, the superstar of comics Mirka Andolfo, authors such as Lorenzo De Felici and Sualzo, but also publishing houses and important realities of the food and wine world such as Star Comics, Panini, Cong, Nuages, Menabrea Beer, Strip And Spirit and Baladin, with its founder Teo Musso.

The debut of the project

On the occasion of Lucca Comics and Games 2022, Foodmetti will make its debut in the wonderful rooms of the Atelier Ricci (Via Burlamacchi, 32), a location where it will be possible know and buy the products related to the project. But not only that, there are also numerous panels with design professionals of the caliber of Mirka Andolfo, Giuseppe Camuncoli, C.B. Cebulski, Lorenzo De Felici, Sualzo, and names that are part of the food and wine excellences such as Cristiano Tomei, Carlo Spinelli, Teo Musso, Marco Macelloni, Tommaso Blandi and many others.

But who thinks of Spider-Man? Chef Cristiano Tomei also paid homage to him, presenting the Spider Pizza, a classic of Italian cuisine revisited in a comics key complete with mozzarella that creates the shape of SpiderMan's web. All these products boast the presence of labels on official Marvel concession, and were made by Giuseppe Camuncoli.

Among the food & beverage proposals, the spicy line of saldaPress will also be present at Lucca Comics and Games. This proposal sees the public offer a series of six extra virgin olive oils from the Frantoio di Massarosa flavored with chillies from the Carmazzi farm. And then again a special wine to be tasted. Among the peculiarities of this line we find the labels created by Mirka Andolfo, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Lorenzo De Felici, Daniel Warren Johnson, Ryan Ottley and Dan Panosian. If you want to combine spicy with some spirits, here is Strip and Spirit with a line dedicated to Corto Maltese. So get ready for Rum Marinero (aged for 3 years), Rum Isla Escondida (aged for 7 years) and Vodka Oyster Raspoutine. Still on the subject of drinks, the independent Baladin brewery by Teo Musso participates in Foodmetti with its National Beer and Paprika Tonic. The first is a 100% Italian craft beer while the second is a special version of the Baladin line dedicated to tonic water, created in collaboration with Star Comics and the author Mirka Andolfo.

As regards the editorial part of the project, the comics one, in the Foodmetti space it will be possible to buy My grandfather took me to fà gli erbi. A life of recipes and research in the kitchen, the autobiographical book by the histrionic chef Cristiano Tomei published by Rizzoli. The events at Atelier Ricci

Friday 28 October at 12:00 there will be the opening vernissage in the company of C.B. Cebulski, Giuseppe Camuncoli and Marco Marastoni, Cristiano Tomei and Carlo Spinelli. A buffet will follow. Also on Friday 28 October, from 16:00 to 17:00 there will be the panel An American Bar - Behind the counter of Franklin'33 with Carlo Spinelli, Marco Macelloni and Tommaso Blandi. Saturday 29 October, from 12:00 to 13:00 will be the turn of the meeting entitled The flavor of the journey, the taste of eros - Drinking and eating with the art of Pratt, Crepax and Chaykin, with the participation of Patrizia Zanotti (Cong ), Andrea G. Ciccarelli (saldaPress) with presentation and moderation by Giuseppe Camuncoli and Carlo Spinelli. Afterwards, from 16:00 to 17:00, Cristiano Tomei, Giuseppe Camuncoli and CB Cebulski will animate the meeting The chef of wonders - from Lucca to the Marvel Universe, with Cristiano Tomei and the moderation of Carlo Spinelli. Sunday 30 October, from 12:00 to 13:00, it is the turn of A pint of comics - The cartoonist's sense for hops, with Sualzo, Teo Musso (Baladin), Davide G. Caci (Star Comics), Marco Marastoni (Surfing On Comics: SaldaPress and Birra Menabrea) and to moderate Giuseppe Camuncoli. Monday 31 October, from 10:30 - 11:30 there will be The flavor of comics: The Marvel day - The House of Ideas between comics and flavors. C.B. Cebulski, with the presentation of Giuseppe Camuncoli, will give life to bread while from 16:00 to 17:00 we will discuss Spicy Drawings - Comics and illustrations under the sign of Peperoncino with Giuseppe Camuncoli, Mirka Andolfo, Marco Carmazzi, Marco Marastoni, Lorenzo De Felici. Massimiliano Loizzi will present. Tuesday 1 November starting at 16:00 it closes with a final party with the Foodmetti team.
