Paramount Plus: how it works and how to see it

Paramount Plus

Paramount Plus, the streaming service of Paramount Global, will debut in Italy next September and will bring with it well over 8,000 hours of entertainment for the whole family, with the best of major international titles and original Italian productions. This is an expansion of the SVOD service that will not only stop in Italy but will also involve France, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria where Paramount + will arrive in December.

Jaime Ondarza, EVP & South EMEA Hub Leader, Head of Streaming Southern Europe, Latin America, MIddle East & Africa, commented on the choice to arrive in Europe and in particular in Italy:

“We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Paramount +, our streaming service, in Italy. And we are proud to present to the public the offering of available titles, a perfect integration between global content, such as Scream and the Star Trek franchise, and local content available at launch such as Circeo, 14 days, Corpo Libero and later Miss Fallaci. A strong and structured offering made up of cinemas, series, original MTV products, great titles for children and families headed by Nickelodeon and documentaries that appeal to a large and heterogeneous audience leveraging prestigious Paramount + Originals including The Offer, The First Lady and Tulsa King. The launch of Paramount + in Italy strengthens our positioning in the streaming segment, enriching and completing our vast ecosystem which thus boasts two OTT platforms and our linear, pay and FTA channels ”.

What is Paramount Plus?

Costs and operation

Paramount Plus, as widely said, it is already available in many countries, but in Italy it will arrive in partnership with SKY so it will be available at no additional cost for all Sky Cinema subscribers. Therefore, the new streaming service will be available online on the official website, on mobile via the iOS and Android app, SKY Q and Smart TV. Thanks to Paramount +, Italian users will have a privileged access door to an unlimited library of premium content of international scope, albeit with a strong local connotation; between new major premieres and some of the most anticipated films and TV series, Paramount + will come to really satisfy all tastes, with content suitable for the whole family.

There will therefore be productions made by other companies ( such as Showtime, CBS, MTV, Comedy Central and Paramount Pictures) and premium content produced in our country. Among the most anticipated titles will be Tulsa King with Sylvester Stallone, the Italian Paramount + Original series Corpo Libero, the exclusive Italian production Circeo and two new series from the Star Trek universe including Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: Prodigy . "Small" technical data waiting to find out what will officially happen in Italy: currently in the United Kingdom the streaming of content is limited to a maximum resolution Full HD (1080p) and with 5.1 Dolby surround sound, while in the United States premium subscribers have access to some shows and films in 4K HDR (Dolby Vision) and Dolby Atmos. Furthermore, the download for offline viewing of the contents is only possible through the Paramount + app, although limited to 25 titles, it is possible to create separate profiles (up to six), including those for children with age lock and there is the possibility to perform up to three simultaneous streams.
