Meet Vueko in the Made in Abyss 2 trailer

Finally we have the release date of the second season of Made in Abyss, adaptation of the homonymous manga by Akihito Tsukushi, published in Italy by J-POP (buy it on Amazon) is titled Made in Abyss: Retsujitsu no Ogonkyo (The Golden City of the Scorching Sun). A new trailer has revealed that the anime will be released on July 6 this year. Not only. The trailer shows us a new character named Vueko.

Vueko, whose full name is Vueroeruko, is a mysterious woman who has been chained by the neck in a deep mud pit under Ilblu before Riko freed it.

The second season of Made in Abyss

The three main cast members are also back along with several new additions: Miyu Tomita will play Riko, Mariya Ise will be Reg, Shiori Izawa will be Nanachi, Misaki Kuno will play Faputa, Yuka Terasaki will be Vueko, Hiroaki Hirata will voice Wazukyan and Mitsuki Saiga will be Belaf. We then have Hiroki Gotō as Majikaja, Kana Ichinose as Maaa, Kimiko Saitō as Muugi and Ryota Takeuchi as Gaburoon. Natsuko Hara, Inori Minase, and Toshiyuki Morikawa return as Meinya, Prushka, and Bondrewd respectively.


The staff sees Masayuki Kojima as director, Hitoshi Haga as assistant director, Hideyuki Kurata takes care of the composition of the series, Kazuchika Kise of IG production, Miyao Yamashita of color, Tsunetaka Ema is the director of photography, Yō Yamada is the sound director, Toru Noguchi of the sound effects, Kevin Penkin of the music, Hiromitsu Iijima is the music producer along with Irma la Douce and Kinema Citrus is in charge of the animations.

In addition, Yuka Kuroda joins to Kise as second character designer. Season 1 prop designer Takeshi Takakura is now the design leader, with Takumi Sakura credited as the new season prop designer. Inspired's Teru Sekiguchi joins Osamu Masuyama as second art director. Masayuki Kurosawa is in charge of editing and Kadokawa is collaborating on music production.

Made in Abyss: manga and anime


The first anime season, consisting of 13 episodes, produced by Kinema Citrus was broadcast in Japan between July 7 and September 29, 2017. In Italy it is available on VVVVID for free in both subtitled and dubbed versions Italian; the dubbed version is also on Amazon Prime Video for subscribers to the service.

The season was summed up in two films released in theaters: Tabidachi no Yoake, released in Japan on January 4, 2019, and Horo Suru Tasogare, which premiered on January 18, 2019. A sequel film, Dawn of the Deep Soul (Fukaki Tamashii no Reimei) was released in Japan on January 17, 2020 while Dynit will publish it in home video in September.
