Battlefield 2042 was supposed to have extreme weather conditions

Not so many months have passed since the launch of the new Battlefield 2042, yet the latest effort by DICE and EA has not been able to fully impress fans of the FPS series. Many had already turned up their noses when the absolute lack of a single-player campaign was made official, but a launch with various problems made many other fans desist, with the community having suffered a decline in active players in just under a few week.

This rather hobbled launch seems to be due to a number of issues and changes in progress during the development phase of Battlefield 2042, and coming up with possible new details is the usual insider Tom Henderson. According to what was recently reported on Twitter, it seems that the DICE title should have proposed the presence of different atmospheric conditions to say the least extreme such as: earthquakes, tornadoes of flames, tsumamis and volcanic eruptions.

As the same points out Henderson in his recent tweet, the title would have needed another full year of development to come out in a better defined way and with many of the gameplay components prototyped by the development team. Due to this lack, Battlefield 2042 came out with only one of the extreme environmental components clearly present in the title, namely tornadoes.

A summer 2020 presentation of # Battlefield2042 contained earthquakes, fire tornadoes, tsunamis, and volcano eruptions - But due to lack of time, they needed to just focus on the twister.

Despite these problems, the guys at DICE have already rolled up their sleeves, and last December 9th Battlefield 2042 received a full-bodied update full of news and large-scale fixes. We hope this recent patch is just the first step in a successful game improvement program.
