Aeterna Noctis: new update for metroidvania announced, here are the news

Aeterna Noctis

Developer and publisher Aeternum Game Studios has announced that its Metroidvania 2D, Aeterna Noctis, will receive a major update that aims to make the game more accessible for less experienced players, while also adding a handful of quality of life improvements and some fixes. bugs.

In particular, the Spanish team has added a new game mode dubbed Aeterna, which is less demanding and has a slightly lower combat difficulty level than the standard mode. Aeterna mode emphasizes the more exploratory side of the game, and some levels have been retroactively redesigned to make the experience smoother for newcomers.

Additionally, boss HP has been slightly reduced, and players will have now the ability to switch between difficulty modes instantly. Finally, the new update will also bring a handful of bug fixes, adding some new thrones to the map, a feature much requested by the Aeterna Noctis community.

A platform section of Aeterna Noctis In our review of Aeterna Noctis we explained that: "Aeterna Noctis will give hardcore platforming satisfactions to many fans of metroidvania more instinctively, less to those looking for a certain wealth of combat system well blended with the rest. The playful offer of the Spanish game is there, it needs to be grasped but it is there, as well as its setting, although not brilliant, conveys passion and the desire to say something. Let's say that there is a lot margin for improvement in a possible sequel, in which knowing how to dose the static presentation of menus and maps much better, as well as the sense of progression, progress and direction, sometimes confusing and not too readable. We hope that this vote is a good omen to reward what has been done and push the team to propose a second chapter richer than the experience that the developers will have in producing a metroidvania that fans will like, but does nothing to bring others closer.
