Outriders: New patch released after a slight delay

Outriders

A new patch for the sci-fi shooter Outriders was supposed to be released on July 13th. However, the developers noticed two new crashes with the new update, which is why they had to postpone the release of the patch.

In a post in the subreddit on Outriders, People Can Fly stated that some testers were faced with two serious problems. In rare cases Outriders (buy now € 59.99) crashed when starting. However, the title is said to have worked normally again after a certain number of crashes.

The second crash occurred when players returned to the title's lobby after a completed multiplayer session. The developers are currently assuming that the class of the Pyromancer and a combination of specific skills and mods has something to do with it. However, they could not confirm this.

People Can Fly is also not sure whether these crashes are related to the new patch or have been in the game for some time:

"Our recent community Research suggests that these two crashes are already present in the game but have never been diagnosed. If so, the patch would not cause any new problems and would be 'safe'. "

The developers therefore asked the Reddit community to help them with this problem if they had already experienced these crashes:

"The complexity of the game code makes it very difficult to present every possible scenario to players -Consider behavior. "

As can be seen in the comments on the Reddit thread, the community members have done quite a bit of work helping the developers get to the bottom of the cause of the crashes. In the official patch notes, which were published on July 15th, the developers write that they currently assume that the crashes "were already part of the game". However, there is a risk that the patch could cause these crashes to occur more frequently.

The new patch brings numerous improvements and bug fixes as well as a change to the balancing of the healthy lifestyle mod of the Pyromancer. You can find the full patch notes in the developers' Reddit thread.

People Can Fly is also currently seeking feedback from the community about a proposed change to the anti-duplication system for legendary equipment. At the moment, the system takes effect when you receive a legendary item that you have already equipped or have in your inventory. That item is then rerolled to reduce the chances of getting a duplicate. With the new changes, however, the system is supposed to ignore your actual equipment, making it easier to get better versions of your equipment.

‘Outriders’ Patch Notes: Skill And Enemy Fixes, AFK Banishing

Outriders

PCF

The new Outriders patch has just gone live after a short delay, and with it comes a number of what will be hopefully welcome changes, including something I have been hoping to see quite literally since launch.

Here are the highlights of the patch notes for the new patch which just went live this afternoon:

  • They have reduced sign-in times on Xbox which has been a persistent problem for ages now, and it’s unclear why this platform specifically has been singled out more than most. I just tested this, and yes, sign-in was almost instant on Xbox, as opposed to the lengthy waiting period before.
  • They have changed the way AFK-ing works in the game, where if you’ve been AFK in camp or in a menu for over two minutes, you will be removed from the matchmaking pool, resulting in hopefully a lot more matches with players that are actually there. This has been one of the single biggest problems with the endgame since launch, and I’m hoping this will make a difference. I kid you not, I used to match with AFK people, leave, played three expeditions, then match again to be matched with the same AFK guy in the same session 45 minutes later.
  • Brood Mothers Surge blue fire attack is now more visible so hopefully less dying to invisible deathtouch ground.
  • The Technomancer Borealis set has now clarified that you only do 90% increased weapon damage to frozen enemies, not all damage. They say this still may be bugged into not working sometimes, and if it’s not, unequip and re-equip it.
  • Hunt the Prey should no longer get stuck when activating (ran into this a whole lot).
  • The Gravity Leap bleed mod now actually applies bleed.
  • Blood Donation skill works in all instances now for Devastator.
  • Pyromancer’s FASER Beam got a slight survivability buff when they changed the Healthy Lifestyle mod to now grant health regen for the full skill duration while channeling.
  •  A small change I noticed that they didn’t list, your character now displays their average gear level, not their XP level in the main menu.
  • Outriders

The patch notes end with a list of issues they are still working on that will be solved in future patches. These include:

  • Stadia being way behind in terms of patches
  • Accolades stuck at 99% for now reason
  • The Borealis Set bug
  • Matchmaking settings turning themselves to Open from Closed all the time
  • Alphas breaking out of CC instantly
  • Certain mods not working
  • Players dying when shields are active
  • Trickster Hunt the Prey direction problems
  • Trickster Venator Knife targeting problems
  • Devastator damage output being weird with bleed and Moaning Winds
  • Devastator Statue Set bonus ending
  • Damage blocked stat appears low
  • The Mentor questline progression buff
  • And they are working on future buffs to all classes, as they’ve previously said, and those will all be rolled out together.

Yep, I’m headed back out there. See ya soon.
