E3 2021: the 10 most important announcements

E3 2021

What were the ten best moments of the last Electronic Entertainment Expo? The Los Angeles fair, which returned this year with a completely digital edition, did not spare itself with revelations and presentations, in combination with Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest.

From the atmosphere of Elden Ring to racing of Forza Horizon 5, from the multiplayer of Halo Infinite to the reveal of Starfield, from the surprise of Redfall to the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, here are the best announcements of E3 2021.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. We knew that Ubisoft was working on an ambitious project related to the Avatar franchise, but no one had any idea that it would be presented with a trailer at E3 2021. If only because this specific announcement was not leaked, an element now. essential as regards the events of the French house, it deserves to be included in this list.

Developed by Ubisoft Massive and powered by the powerful Snowdrop Engine, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will tell in 2022 an unpublished story set on the planet of Na'vi, with a scenario probably open world that promises to make the most of the capabilities of next-gen platforms, as the game will be released exclusively on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X | S and Google Stadia.

Elden Ring

Elden Ring. In the case of Elden Ring it's safe: the new title developed by FromSoftware, which makes use of the important collaboration of George R.R. Martin as regards lore, history and characters, was one of the most anticipated games of E3 2021 and the reveal during the Summer Game Fest did not disappoint the expectations of the many fans of the Japanese studio.

Released on January 21, 2022, Elden Ring promises an interesting mix of soulslike action RPG mechanics, an extremely fascinating dark fantasy scenario and an open world setting in which we can freely decide where to go and what to do, facing the many pitfalls of a tormented world accompanied by a high-level technical and artistic sector.

Forza Horizon 5

Forza Horizon 5. Awarded as the most anticipated game at the E3 2021 Awards, Forza Horizon 5 confirmed the latest rumors by revealing the Mexican location for this new episode, which will hit stores on November 9, obviously exclusively for Microsoft platforms. According to what we have seen, the guys at Playground Games have really done an extraordinary job!

The formula of Forza Horizon 5 is the traditional one of the series, with a completely open map that we can explore freely, in search of events to face or simply for the sake of discovering the various biomes and the variety of landscapes, which also in this case will change dramatically with the passing of the seasons and will present places where the incidence of atmospheric agents is more relevant than others. br>

Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite. Everyone was aiming for a moral rematch for Halo Infinite at E3 2021, and so it was: after last year's disappointing presentation and resounding postponement, the 343 Industries shooter has been substantially improved and is preparing to do great things when the time comes for its debut on PC, Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One, this fall.

Microsoft has shown Halo Infinite in action both with the single player sector, with important developments on the narrative front compared to as seen in the previous episode, and with multiplayer, the latter available with a stand alone and free-to-play module. Both presentations convinced critics and audiences alike, increasing the excitement ahead of the launch.

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. Despite having been sensationally revealed in advance by Nintendo, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope undoubtedly stands as one of the best announcements of E3 2021, as well as a source of pride for the Italian community. Developed by Ubisoft Milan under the direction of Davide Soliani, the sequel due out in 2022 takes up the amazing mechanics of the first chapter to offer us an even richer and more fun experience.

In the company of Mario, Luigi, Peach and of their friends Rabbid, our goal in Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope will be to save the Sparks, selecting the best units from a roster of nine characters and immersing ourselves in the strategic gameplay that characterizes the series between cleverly planned attacks, increasingly enemies tough and spectacular special abilities.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. After the controversial Marvel's Avengers, Square Enix has entrusted the creation of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy to the expert hands of Eidos Montreal, a new action adventure inspired by the adventures of the Guardians of the Galaxy, made more famous than ever by the films directed by James Gunn. but here represented in the traditional stylistic mix that brings together cinema and comics for an interesting synthesis.

Coming October 26, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy will not see us controlling all the Guardians, but only the Star-Lord : as good commanders we will have to make important decisions for the team, deploy our best elements, exploit their abilities and launch headlong into a series of missions that will lead us to explore a large portion of the galaxy, obviously without missing the typical humor of these characters.

Rainbow Six Extraction

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction. Official name of the much talked about Quarantine, Rainbow Six Extraction is convinced to further expand the already numerous fanbase of the series, currently made up of over 70 million players, offering a cooperative experience based on aliens. You got it right: enough military tactics and realism, in Extraction we will have to shoot the damned extraterrestrials!

Starting September 16, in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction our tried and tested team of Operators will therefore have to face on PC , PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One a threat from another world, assaulting different maps with the aim of eliminating the alien parasites present, using a large arsenal and new strategic mechanics such as those of extraction. br>

Redfall

Redfall. Does Arkane Studios' new project have anything to do with vampires? The answer was given to us by Redfall, one of the best announcements of the Xbox and Bethesda conference. Made exclusively for PC and Xbox, with a release scheduled for 2022, the game reinterprets traditional cooperative mechanics thanks to a peculiar style, well represented at E3 2021 by an engaging cinematic trailer.

Set on a ' island covered by a sort of mysterious hood created by a legion of vampires so as not to let the sun's rays penetrate, Redfall puts us in command of a handful of fascinating characters who have sworn to fight the bloodsuckers by any means, in a desperate attempt to restore communications with the outside world and asking for help.

Starfield

Starfield. Is the wait over ... or has it just begun? Starfield has resoundingly opened the Microsoft conference at E3 2021, confirming the great ambitions of the new Bethesda action RPG but denying the rumors that the game was available already during this year: those who want to explore deep space will have to wait for the November 11, 2022.

Made exclusively for PC and Xbox Series X | S, Starfield will take us on a wide-ranging sci-fi adventure; a sort of Skyrim in space, as suggested by Todd Howard, with still many unknowns that have not been revealed by the cinematic trailer presented for the occasion. Powered by the new Creation Engine 2, the Bethesda title will focus heavily on direction and atmosphere to create an all-encompassing experience.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 (the game does not yet have an official name, but for good reason) has closed the Nintendo Direct of E3 2021 in the best possible way, satisfying the many fans who were asking to finally see this adventure in action thanks to a spectacular montage of gameplay sequences that confirm the great ambitions of the project supervised by Eiji Aonuma.

Visually splendid (so much so that some users are convinced it moved on the Nintendo Switch Pro, great absent of the presentation) , Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will allow us to explore new and fascinating environments, use new powers for Link and face even more sophisticated puzzles, to be solved using the renewed abilities of the prota gonist.
