Ammagamma's artificial intelligence and tax credit make Italian SMEs grow

Artificial intelligence is getting closer to small and medium-sized businesses. The Digital Innovation 4.0 tax credit offers SMEs a concrete opportunity to increase competitiveness and resilience, along the entire value chain, also through the adoption of artificial intelligence solutions.

There are still 5 months to seize this advantage, and to choose the accepted solutions to benefit from the credit.

"The systematic generation of innovation is one of the most complex challenges for Italian companies - especially for small and medium-sized ones", he says David Bevilacqua, CEO of Ammagamma.

“On the one hand, their small size has historically represented an advantage in terms of flexibility, adaptability, the ability to reinvent processes and products very quickly; on the other hand, however, this same dimension has made investments in innovation more difficult and less scalable ".

The Aid Decree n. 50/2022, published in the Official Gazette of 17 May 2022, provided for a further increase in the tax credit for intangible capital goods 4.0.

| ); } The tax credit is increased by 50% of the expenditure incurred for investments in Industry 4.0 intangible assets, made in 2022, with a queue until June 30, 2023, for those booked by the end of the year.

In particular, the rate rises from 20% to 50% for investments made from 1 January to 31 December 2022 (i.e. within the long term of 30 June 2023) provided that by 31 December 2022 the seller has accepted the relevant order and advance payments of at least 20% of the acquisition cost have been paid. The maximum limit of eligible expenses is € 1 million.

The scope of artificial intelligence products is particularly broad: from solutions for the optimized planning of production and organizational processes to management platforms inventory predictors, applications for forecasting future trends, data enrichment services for advanced analytics solutions, classification platforms and automated extraction of information from documents.

"The results obtained, of course , vary according to the nature of the project ", says Giovanni Anceschi, head of innovation at Ammagamma.

" This translates into a very fast return on investment horizon, in some cases we speak of 6-10 months. It is clear that, especially for smaller companies, this means greater competitiveness and the ability to adopt a continuous 'modular' and incremental innovation strategy ".
