Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will soon arrive on Crunchyroll: here is the date

The film, among other things distributed by Crunchyroll in collaboration with Nexo Digital for the Italian screening at the cinema (June 2022), will arrive on Crunchyroll from 21 September 2022.

Although the animated feature film is made after the first animated season by Studio MAPPA (from October 2020 to March 2021, available in Italy on Crunchyroll), the events predate the main story currently in progress. This is the adaptation of the manga Jujutsu Kaisen - Sorcery Fight 0: The institute of occult arts, whose individual chapters were published by Gege Akutami in Shueisha's Jump Giga magazine from April to July 2017. Later, given the success of the main series, were collected in the manga prequel published in Italy by Planet Manga in May 2020 (we invite you to buy it here on Amazon).

Yuta Okkotsu is a neurotic high school student suffering from a complicated problem: his childhood friend Rika has turned into a curse that doesn't leave him alone. Because Rika does not fall into the ordinary category of being cursed, the sinister situation is taken to heart by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at the college of occult arts. Gojo convinces Yuta to sign up, but he will have enough time to confront the threat that hunts him.

As for the production of the film, Studio MAPPA returns from the main anime along with the rest of the staff and cast. Sunghoo Park (The God of High School) is the director of the film while Hiroshi Seko (Dorohedoro) is the screenwriter. The character designer is Tadashi Hiramatsu (Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu). Mangaka Gege Akutami oversaw the production.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Sets Crunchyroll Release Date

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 had a very successful run through theaters across the world, and now it's getting ready for its full digital release as the film will be coming to Crunchyroll very soon! Originally releasing in Japan last Winter before coming our way earlier this year, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is the feature film follow up to the very successful first season of the anime taking on Gege Akutami's original manga series. It went on to incredible success, but has yet to have an official home media release at the time of this writing. Thankfully that's about to change a bit.

Crunchyroll announced during their industry panel at Crunchyroll Expo this year that they will be adding some major feature films to their service over the next few weeks. This will be a part of a new endeavor to release a collection of new movies every week for the rest of the Summer, and one of the major releases headlining this effort is Jujutsu Kaisen 0. The major motion picture will be coming to Crunchyroll's streaming service on September 21st, but it has yet to be confirmed as to whether this will feature multiple audio options.

If you're curious about how the movie turned out before it hits Crunchyroll later this Fall, you can find ComicBook.com's review of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 here. Here's an excerpt to get you started, 'It's an absolutely stunning work of animation that surpasses anything seen in the TV anime. It's in everything from the lighting to the impressive fluidity in both the smallest character moments to the action sequences.

Each of those sequences is different in its own way as well, and are a feast for the eyes and ears. Both the casts of the Japanese and English dubbed audio (both of which were viewed for the purposes of this review) knock it out of the park in this regard, with Megumi Ogata and Kayleigh McKee serving as major standouts of each cast respectively. It feels like an elevated experience, and that's hard to do with a TV series that's already highly praised for these aspects.'
