Tom Holland and Zendaya in Sony's animated Spider-Verse?

In a very recent promotional interview for SYFY Wir, Tom Holland and Zendaya confessed that they want to lend their voices in one of Sony's upcoming animated Spider-Verse films. The actors, in fact, would like to get into action alongside Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy in the saga of Across the Spider-Verse.

The upcoming Spider-Man sequel - A New Universe, which even received an Oscar in 2019 for Best Animated Film, brings together Spider-Man from across the multiverse Marvel, including Spider-Woman and the mysterious Spider-Man 2099. The sequel is titled Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse - Part One and will arrive in Italian cinemas on October 7, 2022.

Tom Holland and Zendaya in Sony's animated Spider-Verse?

It's an idea that seems at least possible on paper given the ways Across the Spider-Verse will play with the multiverse and interdimensional travel. In fact, producer Christopher Miller recently revealed that in the Spider-Verse films he will want to explore any Spider-Man and any universe.

Tom Holland and Zendaya, who play Peter Parker / Spider-Man and Michelle "MJ" Jones respectively, have confessed that they loved Spider-Man - A New Universe and are therefore interested in lending their vocal talent to the franchise, potentially in a sequel to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

During the interview, the MJ actress said:

I love the Spider-Verse movies!

and Tom Holland added:

Actually I'm just waiting for a call from them. Guys please call us! Put us in your film, we want to be there one hundred percent.

The Producer's Response

It was also revealed that there were plans to integrate Tom Holland into Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse alongside colleagues Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. However, Sony Pictures rejected the idea because they thought it would be "too soon". But now it seems that the duo has caught the attention of one of the producers, Christopher Miller. On Twitter, the man replied to a tweet which spoke of Holland and Zendaya's desire to participate in an animated Spider-Verse movie. The producer simply responded with a hilarious gif of a monkey, holding a phone to his ear with the caption "Call me".
