Marvel presents Destiny of X

After a series of teasers, Marvel has officially presented Destiny of X, the new status quo of the X-Men universe after the Inferno event and which will involve all the mutant warheads.

Marvel presents Destiny of X, new course of the X-Men titles

During the last week, Marvel released a series of teasers showing past, present and presumably future versions of some of the most prominent characters in the ranks of X-Men, images that prepared for the arrival of Destiny of X. Today, the publisher has finally shed some light on this title, announcing it as the next chapter in the contemporary history of mutants.

Destiny of X will first bring several new titles in the context of the X-Men, which up to a few months ago they were all published under the management of Jonathan Hickman, also bringing a new status quo for the nation of Krakoa and its inhabitants, which will also be reflected in some management changes of some publications. Marvel has also announced the titles of the titles that, starting from the spring of 2022, will make up the set of titles: Immortal X-Men, Marauders, X-Force, Knights of X, X-Men, Legion of X, Wolverine, New Mutants and X-Men Red.

The publisher has announced that there will also be changes for the titles already in progress, such as Wolverine, X-Men and X-Force, announcing for example the arrival of the screenwriter Steve Orlando on the Marauders header with Crees Lee.

There are some details regarding the new warheads that will be launched with Destiny of X: Legion of X should be a sequel to the already existing Way of X, in which, from the point of view of Nightcrawler, the side is explored religious of the new mutant structure, while X-Men Red, which takes up the name of the head of 2018, could refer to the color of the planet of Mars, on which the X-Men have established the headquarters of Arrako after the X of Swords event . As for Immortal X-Men and Knights of X, no details have yet been disclosed, but these should arrive in the next few days. The titles Excalibur and SWORD are missing from the list, which presumably will come to their own conclusion.

To present what has been called "The Second Krakoana Era of the X-Men" a teaser made by Leinil Francis has been published Yu and Sunny Gho, in which a large cast of characters appears. Among these, there are also the mutant Destiny, returned in sight during Inferno, and who could play a major role in this new act, Deadpool and the new mutant Somnus.

We strongly recommend you to catch up on Amazon some volumes related to the new course of the X-Men, published by Panini Comics in our country, such as House of X / Powers of X and X-Men by Jonathan Hickman 1 - Pax Krakoa.

All the new X-Men comics, graphic novels, collections from Marvel arriving in 2021 and beyond

The X-Men are on hiatus in the movies, but the comic book franchise - once Marvel's flagship - is having something of a moment due to the revitalization of the family of titles with Jonathan Hickman's 'Dawn of X' revamp, which has now segued to the next era, 'Reign of X.'

But the X-Men - which is built on the idea of evolution - is evolving right now, segueing from 'Reign of X' (and Hickman as the group's head writer) to a Hickman-less era called 'Destiny of X.' It appears to be coming on four fronts - the introduction of Captain Krakoa in the main X-Men title, the twin Inferno and Trial of Magneto event series, and also the upcoming time- and multiverse-traveling series X Lives and Death of Wolverine.

While we don't know much about what comes next, this liminal state is resulting in delays and hiatuses for all of the X-Men books from X-Men to Excalibur, New Mutants, Marauders, Wolverine, X-Force, and SWORD.

And that's not even mentioning the numerous new X-Men collections coming out at almost a weekly clip, gathering recent story arcs all in one volume and, in some cases, bringing back classic stories that haven't been available in print for years.
