Nintendo Switch OLED

Nintendo has announced the Switch OLED - and confirmed the rumors about a new model of its game console. The new version appears on October 8th and comes with a 7-inch display (standard model: 6.2-inch LCD) that promises intense colors and high contrast. Nintendo is not making any changes to the resolution, as shown in a specification table. Means: In handheld mode the screen resolution is still 720p, in dock mode it is 1080p. It is not known whether there have been any detailed changes to the processor: The data sheet only mentions an "adapted Tegra processor" - as with the standard model.

Speaking of the docking station: The revised station has a new LAN Connection to connect the console to the Internet by cable. The two USB ports and the HDMI connection are also on board with the Switch (buy now) OLED. In addition, Nintendo is expanding the internal memory - from 32 to 64 gigabytes. If desired, the storage space can still be expanded with an additional microSD card. If you use the Switch OLED, you will also notice an adjustable stand on the console, with which the device can be operated in table mode at the desired viewing angle. The console weighs around 20 grams more than the standard model.
