Nintendo Switch OLED: Differences to the standard model - technology specs in comparison

Nintendo Switch OLED

With the Switch OLED, Nintendo has presented a new model of its game console - and confirmed previous rumors. However, the speculations about a 4K resolution have not come true: The built-in 7-inch OLED screen uses the same resolutions as the standard model (6.2-inch LCD). Means: The resolution of the display is still 1280 x 720. In TV mode, the new console outputs a 1080p signal. Nintendo promises more intense colors and higher contrasts for the OLED screen, which should score points above all in handheld operation and in direct sunlight. On the other hand, the developers at Nintendo do not seem to have made any fundamental changes to the processor: The data sheet still mentions an "adapted Nvidia Tegra processor". OLED comes with a storage space of 64 gigabytes - and thus brings twice the storage space with it. If desired, the memory can be expanded as usual with a microSD card. Another new feature is a LAN port on the docking station, which you can use to connect your console to the network by cable. The weight of the console changes minimally: According to Nintendo, the Switch OLED weighs 320 grams, with connected Joy-Cons 420 grams - and thus around 20 grams more than the standard model.
