Italian Video Game Awards 2021, all the winners

The Italian Video Game Awards 2021 have expressed their winners, in particular Promesa: the independent title developed by Eremo has been awarded as the Italian Game of the Year.

Starting from the interesting nominations for the Italian Video Game Awards 2021, the international jury of the event therefore took its decisions, rionosccendo the quality and personality of some projects in particular.

The Italians were celebrated yesterday evening, in the evocative setting of the Museo delle Navi Antiche in Pisa, the Italians Video Game Awards 2021 which awarded excellences among the Italian video game productions, selected by a high-profile international jury.

Promesa awarded as the best Italian game. The ceremony, organized by IIDEA and Toscana Film Commission as part of the business to business event First Playable, was co-hosted by Dario Marchetti of RaiNews 24 and the British journalist Aoife Wilson of Eurogamer.net.

The main objective of the evening was to celebrate and promote made in Italy video games, focusing the spotlight on Italian excellence to promote their international popularity.

Five categories in total for which the jury has expressed itself, selecting the winners:

Best Italian Game - Promesa - Eremo Best Italian Debut Game - Beyond Your Window - Team SolEtude Best Innovation - Griefhelm - Johnny Dale Lonack Outstanding Italian Company - Santa Regione Outstanding Individual Contribution - Mauro Fanelli

Santa Ragione, awarded as Outstanding Italian Company. The work of the jurors is very difficult, especially towards some categories, such as the important recognition for the Outstanding Italian Company, which this year saw Santa Ragione, chosen for its innovative visual and interactive design, which allowed the company to create an interesting portfolio of games. The team, made up of three people, stood out for its unique approach and for its great capacity for experimentation, always maintaining the tradition and style of Italian design.

Mauro Fanelli, a central figure in the national videogame panorama, is was awarded the Outstanding Individual Contribution award, which celebrates a career full of excellent professional achievements and also of entrepreneurship: from the creation of the first specialized video game website in Italy, to the development and porting of numerous successful indie titles in experience with MixedBag, up to the current promotion of Italian studios and young talents through the incubator at Cinecittà in Rome.

Mauro Fanelli, awarded for the Outstanding Individual Contribution. The ceremony took place in the presence of the winners and some institutional guests inside the Museo delle Navi Antiche in Pisa. After last year's fully digital event, this was a small but important first sign of a return to normal that gives hope for future editions.

Thalita Malagò, General Manager of IIDEA said: "We are very happy for the companies and people nominated and awarded at the IVGA 2021. This year in particular the competition was of the highest level, and we are grateful to the jury for the delicate work done in identifying the winners. The awarded productions were published in a context of full health emergency and being able to give them international visibility through the award ceremony makes us even more proud. "

The data that emerged from the latest census on Italian game developers showed an extremely young, lively and growing sector in 2020 despite the global pandemic. All this was confirmed by the nominated titles of the IVGA 2021 which showed high artistic components, with original and creative ideas.
