Disney + announces all titles coming exclusively to Star in 2021-2022

Star, the new Disney + entertainment brand that was launched in Italy in February of this year, will be enriched with over 20 titles that will arrive exclusively on the platform in the coming months.

One of the most anticipated series in arriving on Star within Disney + is Only Murders in the Building, with Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez. A comedy centered on three strangers who share an obsession with the true crime genre and who suddenly find themselves involved in a crime.

When a murder is committed in the New York building they live in, the three must work together to find out the truth. This title will debut in the fall of 2021 and is produced by 20th Television, part of Disney Television Studios.

Star: all the exclusive titles coming in 2021-2022

In 2022 it will arrive instead Pam & Tommy, the biographical drama centered on the scandalous untold story of the world's first viral video: the sex tape of Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee and actress Pamela Anderson, played by Sebastian Stan and Lily James.

Also in 2022 it will arrive on Star Immigrant, a TV series produced by 20th Television and centered on the true story of Somen “Steve” Banerjee (played by Kumail Nanjiani), the Indo-American entrepreneur who founded the Chippendales.

The debut of Dopesick, a limited series in 8 episodes that takes viewers to the center of the fight against opiate addiction in America, from the offices of Purdue Pharma to a mining community in crisis in Virginia, to the corridors is also expected of the DEA.

Star, here are the upcoming FX series

Over the next 18 months, FX will strengthen the brand with 30 titles a year: 25 scripted and 5 unscripted which will be available on Star, all interior of Disney +. Welcome to Wrexham is a docuseries that tells the dreams and stories of the inhabitants of Wrexham, an industrial town in North Wales, Great Britain, when two Hollywood stars (Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds) buy the historic football team of the city now in crisis. This 10-episode series will debut within the next twelve months.

The Choe Show is a new talkshow in which celebrated artist David Choe paints a portrait - literally and figuratively - of his guests. This 4-episode docuseries will be available on Star, within Disney +, in 2021.



In 2022, two incredible FX docuseries will arrive in the Star section on Disney +: Dear Mama, about life and the legacy of hip hop icon and poet Tupac Shakur and his Black Panther militant mother, and Pistol, based on the biography "Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol", released in 2018 by the legendary guitarist of the Sex Pistols , Steve Jones, which offers a fascinating new perspective on one of rock's greatest stories.

Based on the New York Times bestseller, debut novel by Taffy Brodesser-Akner (who will also write the screenplay series), Fleishman is in Trouble offers a relentless and modern look at life, love and dedication. This series will also arrive in 2022 with a date to be confirmed.

Star: the productions of Disney Television Studios

The Big Leap, produced by 20 th Television and Fox Entertainment, is a wild and exciting dramedy. The series follows a diverse group of struggling characters as they attempt to change their lives by participating in a dance reality show that could ruin their lives.

Maggie, based on Tim Curcio's short film, follows a young woman trying to manage her psychic life. The series is produced by 20 th Television, part of Disney Television Studios.

Queens tells of four women in their forties who come together to regain their fame and rediscover the swagger of the times when they were part of the Nasty Bitches, the group that in the 90s made them legends in the world of hip-hop. The series is produced by ABC Signature, part of Disney Television Studios.

Our Kind of People, produced by 20 th Television and Fox Entertainment, is inspired by Lawrence Otis Graham's provocative critically acclaimed book, “Our Kind of People: Inside America's Black Upper Class ”. This drama series is set in the exclusive world of Oak Bluffs, in Martha's Vineyard, the historic stronghold where the wealthy and powerful African American elite have been gathering for over fifty years.

Finally, 20 th Television, part by Disney Television Studios comes The Wonder Years, a coming-of-age tale set in the late 1960s that offers a nostalgic look at a middle-class African American family living in Montgomery, Alabama, seen through the eyes of the fanciful 12-year-old Dean.

National Geographic productions coming to Star

Produced by National Geographic, the following series will arrive on Disney + over the next 12 months, after debuting on the National Geographic linear channel:

Gordon Ramsay will go in search of unique moments in Gordon Ramsay: Off the Menu; those who love inquiries like Mariana van Zeller will be able to push their knowledge of the world to the limit in Journey to the Black Market with Mariana Van Zeller.

Guru Bear Grylls will lead his celebrated guests towards moments of pure enlightenment in Bear Grylls: Celebrity Edition; Finally, Lupi di Mare will follow a group of daring fishermen from Gloucester, Massachusetts, the oldest seaport in the United States, as they earn their living in pursuit of the precious bluefin tuna.
