Shaman King reboot sequel announced

The reboot of Shaman King, the new anime adaptation of Hiroyuki Takei's manga of the same name, concluded on Tuesday and on that occasion a commercial was aired that officially announces the approval of a sequel. For now, no other information has been made available, so we don't know if it will be a new series or an animated feature film. Meanwhile, two "thank you pictures" have been released showing the characters now and seven years later (with Hana in the second picture).

About the Shaman King reboot

The series anime Shaman King of 2021 is based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Hiroyuki Takei. This is a reboot of the first television anime that first aired in 2001 and is produced by the animation studio Bridge (Fairy Tail, The Royal Tutor). It is currently airing worldwide on Netflix.

Directed by Joji Furuta (The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments, Uta no Prince Sama Maji Love, Kingdom, Double Decker! Doug & Kirill, ēlDLIVE), while the screenplay was written by Shoji Yonemura (Pokémon anime, Wave, Listen to Me!), the character design is curated by Satohiko Sano (Heybot!, Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun, Talentless Nana) and the music is composed by Yuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia, Haikyu !!). The fourth ending, Courage Soul, was played by Yoh Asakura's voice actress, Yōko Hikasa.

The manga and anime

In April 2014, the publication of the official sequel to the manga entitled Shaman King Flowers began, again by Hiroyuki Takei in the monthly magazine Jump Kai, preceded by a series of self-contained chapters that tell unpublished stories about the protagonists of the manga.

In Italy the series was published by Star Comics as part of the Dragon series from 3 June 2003 to 4 September 2006 in the original tankōbon format and later in the kanzenban format from 3 November 2010 to 2 January 2013 in a series called Shaman King Perfect Edition with tables revised and corrected by the author, new format, color pages and dialogues revised and corrected, of which many volumes have been sold out.
