Yoshitaka Amano and Ryuichi Sakamoto sign the anime Exception for Netflix. This is a horror set in space based on a new story by novelist and filmmaker Hirotaka Adachi also known as Otsuichi, first announced on the fourth day of Netflix's Geeked Week, the opening video of the anime was also revealed. in which we can hear the theme song created by the prolific composer of soundtracks and musician Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Last Emperor, The Wings of Honneamise, Appleseed).

Based on a new story by novelist and director Hirotaka Adachi, who will also be writing the script, Exception will be drawn by Yoshitaka Amano (Final Fantasy) while Yuuzou Satou is directing; the production of the series is entrusted to Tatsunoko Production, Bakken Record and 5 Inc.




Previously announced cast members include: Chikahiro Kobayashi as Lewis, Takahiro Sakurai as Mac, Yuko Kaida as Nina, Takanori Hoshino as Oscar, and Atsumi Tanezaki as Patty.


Netflix describes the story:

In the distant future, humanity has been hunted from Earth and forced to transfer its population to another galaxy. The members of a team of explorers are sent in search of a planet suitable for terraforming. The crew is created using a biological 3D printer, but a malfunction in the system causes one of the crew members, Lewis, to emerge in a deformed state. As Lewis turns against his companions Nina, Mack, Patty and Oscar, in the terrifying darkness of the ship the countdown to the end of the mission begins.
